The refreshing tartness in this divine, bright golden-colored ale gives way to earthy undertones and hints of citrus followed by a slight sea salt-like dryness and tangy, effervescent finish.

Draught at Beer Temple, Amsterdam. Clear pale golden/yellow, with a nice offwhite head. Salty sourish aroma, grassy, bread, some citrus and grapes. Fruity citrus flavor, grassy, citrus, some grapes. Kinda drinkable but lacking some of the things i want in a Gose.

Subtly fruity aroma. Explicitly soury, hints of saltiness at finish, citrusy. Very refreshing, high carbonation. Interesting.

It might not be fair to review this particular can as I believe itís about five months old. I bought Anderson Valley The Kimmie, The Yank and the Holy Gose because I thought it was a winter seasonal based on the name. But even the worst gose is a pretty good beer and this is evident of that. It has all the standard characteristics common with the style, but is overtly mild.

I poured a 12oz can into a small lager glass. It appears to have been canned on 7/24/14 and cost $3.10 ($0.26 per ounce).

Appearance: Lager-like complexion of white gold hue with a crystal clear body. Plenty effervescent immediately with a small, white, soapy head which quickly evaporates and leaves no lacing.

Smell: Mild, but familiar nose of tartness and some citrus. Some wheat.

Taste: Thereís one flavor you want out of a gose and thatís tartness. Itís present in this brew right away. A sharp tartness combined with some salty bitterness as well. Through the middle thereís a gentle orange citrus flavor which accentuates the natural acidity of the palette. A light wheat character can be found in the background through the palette Ė creating for a slight crackery flavor. While thereís nothing off-putting about this beer, itís unfortunate that the delivery is so mild. Perhaps a fresher can would be more potent, but even one with some age is still pretty decent.

Drinkability: This beer is clearly marketed as a session beer, and at only 4.2% ABV, Anderson Valley The Kimmie, The Yank and the Holy Gose definitely meets that criteria for me. The mouthfeel is thin and crisp, but at no point does it feel watery. Itís refreshing while in the mouth and finishes clean. I could see this working only in the summer, though.

Pour out of 12 oz can, slightly hazy golden pour with white head, aroma brought notes of salt, coriander, some wheat, grass, bread, hints of biscuit, some slight tart fruit notes. Taste is a mix of white fruit, biscuit, bread, some nice salt and coriander, finishing tart, dry. Very nicely done, slightly unexpected!

This is one of the lightest brews Iíve come across; liquid the palest orange and capped with a snow-white and most timorous head. The aroma is slight coming from the can, but once I bring my nose to the edge of the glass, a movie popcorn slathered in butter is my experience off the bat. Warm salt and a lactic edge in this calls my taste buds out for a ten mile run in the heat. The acidic nature draws the back of my throat into the experience. Once swallowed, this just disappears leaving only a trace, a ghost of an experience and a desire for another quaff. The carb is fizzy, and if the beer wasnít this light, I would feel a need for it to back off a little. But it is, and I donít. Very light, a little slick despite that buzz, and extremely drinkable. Another style that I am sure folks will fight over, (these are good, these are bad), but I am enjoying it. Itís refreshing, light and fruity, dry and complex. Perfect with a seafood smorgasbord or a heavy breakfast laden with eggs and greasy wonderful things! The style will never be a favorite, but the Anderson Valley Gose in this review is definitely a nice introduction and Iíll try more of the gose because of this one!

Can. Clear gold. Sour sweet tangy aroma. The taste follows and reminds me of sour patch kids candy with a dry salty finish. Juicy pineapple and sweet tarts all around. Good stuff but, not really my thing overall. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a lightly hazy golden with a very small bubbly white head. Aroma of light tart notes and bready malt. Flavor of sweet tarts, pineapple, sour fruits and bready malt.

Draught at Craft Beer Base. Clear yellow very light. Big tangy lemon aroma. Flavour has a surprising salty finish.
