COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The refreshing tartness in this divine, bright golden-colored ale gives way to earthy undertones and hints of citrus followed by a slight sea salt-like dryness and tangy, effervescent finish.

Tasted on 7/15/14 from a 12oz can purchased at Green’s Buford. Pours clear, light orange with a thick white head that slowly recedes to thin lace. The nose is wheaty malt with some tart citrus peel and a touch of vinegar, almost briny. The flavor is even more tart than the nose suggested with a very clean wheat malt, a lactic touch, and a very dry salty finish. The body is medium with an almost creamy texture, lively, filling carbonation, and a long tart and salty finish. This is by far the saltiest Gose I have had to this point.

Great, refreshing beer. Love the funk and sourness. Not overwhelming, just enough to keep it interesting.

020216. Can from Archive Beer Boutique. A touch thin in the glass and also in the mouth and the flavour is a little on the light side. There is a slight tartness in the flavour and also some saltiness. Not a bad beer but not great either - middle of the road I guess you would call it.

355 ml can. Pours clear lemon-yellow with a sudsy head that pretty much disappears after a while. Aromas of citrus, flowers, white bread and a little pear. Sharply sour at first before some fresh apple, pear and lemon come through. Expected salty edge comes through towards the back end. Crisp finish with a touch of minerality. Nice gose.

355ml can from Club de Cervezas. Pours a clear yellow-gold color with a big white fizzy head that disappears really quick leaving no lacing at all. Aroma is really strange with upfront yeasty and tart notes. Evanescent and diluted at times, but with warming it becomes slightly clearer. Hints of Champagne, apples, cider, funk, barnyard and green herbal aromas. Not really bad, but I did not get much "Ale" character. Taste is mildly sour, with no sweetness and clear salty presence especially in the very dry finish. Flavors again remind of cider and Champagne with some tart apples and decent funkiness. OK. But lacks character. Light body, high carbonation, it’s quite refreshing really but it was quite different from what I expected. Can’t say I loved it. Not bad. Not sure how well it fits in the style.

12 ounce can
Another gem from Anderson Valley, this balanced and drinkable gose mixes Old World with New World in a package that should cost more than $1.99 (and that for a single). If this demonstrates their commitment to the more sessionable end of the spectrum I plan to keep a close eye on their future special releases.

Aroma / Appearance - A rose gold body shimmers with a spark of life below fresh white head. Salty lemons remind me of a margarita with a splash of ice to take off the edge. The profile aligns for the most part with previous experiences of American takes on the style.

Flavor / Palate - Salt, lemons, and fresh citrus lend the beer a dry start that opens up on the tongue. Slowly it peels back the layers of light flavor until a bright finish that caps off a beer that work well. If any local brewery put out a product like this I’d be all over a growler.

Aroma - straw Appearance - pale yellow, clean, good nucleation. Head is about 1 1/3" and white. Strangely enough the head totally disappears. Taste - has a barnyard funky yeast, straw, solid citrus (lemon), and some dry white flesh fruit. Nice and tart. Palate - light body, texture is slightly vinuous, carbonation average, finish is dry and tart. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
