COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Hop-Heads, your dreams have come true! Hop Ottin' is Boontling for "hardworking hops," and they're surely hard at work in this brew. Hop Ottin' starts with a strong floral aroma, which winds into a deep and complex body. In an intriguing balance, honey-drenched malts coat rich hop undertones. At length, the hops prevail, with a satisfyingly crisp finish. Hop Ottin' bites like a cankicky bluetail (Hop Ottin' bites like a rattlesnake looking for a fight.)

There is a HUGE difference between the bottled product and the draft. I would wash my hair with the bottled beer and drink only the draft. This rating is based on the bottle. Unbalanced taste that is both fruity and sweet; the aftertaste then becomes overly bitter.

Pours orange with a thick off white head. Big hop aroma with citrus and pine. Very nicely hopped with a bitter finish. An excellent IPA.

Hazy burnt orange, rocky off white head. Pine sap, grapefruit, touch of flowers. Lots of Cali IPA flavors with crisp citric hops and earth, but with a nice malty undertone of toffee, caramel, and the slightest touch of honey. Not quite balanced, but for Hopheads who cares! Medium bodied with a nice hops bite to round it out. This is one I can always turn to in a pinch.

Orange/amber in color with an off-white foamy head. Notes of floral and citrus and pine in the nose. Good full mouthfeel. Taste is sweet with a dry, acidic finish. Very good IPA.

clear, orange/amber color, thick white head, potent hop aroma, piney and floral, toffeeish-toasty malt background, crisp; flavor has a strong hop presence, bitter, oily, lightly acidic, dry, nice texture although the malt flavors are hidden in the background, maybe some alcohol as well, citrusy

This beer pours a nice light amber with a cream head. The smell is of grapefruit hops. The taste is heavy on the hops, smooth. Excellent IPA.

UPDATED: SEP 5, 2012 This is on my IPA rotation for my beer fridge. A nice drinking IPA that consistently pleases. +++ Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer pours a hazy orange-caramel color with a large thick and creamy orange-white head that just lasts forever and leaves great lacing. The aroma was strong floral and bitter fruity hops with undertones of orange and tang malts. The flavor was bitter pine, grapefruit, pineapple and orange with light sweet and tangy caramel underneath. The finish is long with floral and citric hops and caramel lingering. The hops coat the tongue nicely and the body is slick and fairly full. Well done.

UPDATED: APR 30, 2004 First Rating: I sure hope the 6 pack I just bought is bad, because this stuff is terrible. Smells like soap, tastes like soap/skunk. I'll try it again, wish I didn't have a sixer of this stuff! ReRate: On tap. Pours with a nice froathy head that lingers, liquid is brown-red color. Nose is floral hops, alcohol, strange soap oder? Unfortunately I wasn't too impressed with this, who knows how old the keg was, the hops may have gone bad again, but there is a astringent soapy flavor to this that just turns me off. Good floral hops and respectable malts, but nothing exciting. The after taste has too much alcohol as well.

This beer pours a nice coperish color with a big cream colored head. There are floral, citrus, piney hop aromas present. There is a very quick sweet malt flavor in the first taste followed by a nice clean citric hop taste that is fairly dry. I didn't think this was overly bitter, it's a nice beer that I think those new to IPA's could handle.
