COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Hop-Heads, your dreams have come true! Hop Ottin' is Boontling for "hardworking hops," and they're surely hard at work in this brew. Hop Ottin' starts with a strong floral aroma, which winds into a deep and complex body. In an intriguing balance, honey-drenched malts coat rich hop undertones. At length, the hops prevail, with a satisfyingly crisp finish. Hop Ottin' bites like a cankicky bluetail (Hop Ottin' bites like a rattlesnake looking for a fight.)

Big sweet citrus hop presence. Night crisp initial feel on the tongue, with flavors of mixed citrus and wood. Seems to be on the more earthy and robust side of IPAs, instead of being completely hopped sweet.

Poured a copper color with a small light tan head that left nice lacing. Bitter hops and citrus dominate the taste. This one shocked me, its awesome! Hadn't had it in a while an ddidn't realize it was like this!

Haven't been into IPA's lately, but tried some of this anyways. Nice copper color. Has that big west coast hop aroma and bite. Not overly bitter, clean, but lacks a standout flavor like some of the other better American IPA's.

Nice dark amber color, darker and redder than I'm used to in an IPA. Interesting understated woody sweetness underneath the requisite punch-in-the-eyelid hops here. Quite nice. Like Bobby Dylan said: the pump don't work 'cause the vandals took the handle. Update: this is too expensive; paid roughly $10 for a sixer. This only has to come from one state over, in Mendocino County. Not fucking belgium. You can take that to the bank, Woodrow.

Looks beautiful sitting there in the glass fresh out of the bottle. Deep amber color with a large, off-white head. Aroma of things spicy, flowery and green - hops and lots of them. Undertones of malt and earth present. Tipping the glass and sipping brings an intitial sweetness of the caramel malts, then delivers a one, two punch of hop flavor and strong biting finish. Palate is nice, medium body, good carbonation that enlivens the mouth. Maybe a little much in the hops for my current tastes - though over-the-top hop-heads should appreciate its commitment bitterness.

UPDATED: MAR 19, 2004 Lightly hazy medium bronze color with a nice two-finger thick creamy off-white head. The aroma has a very malty aroma with some aromatic biscuity malts showing through along with a nice bite of hops present. Not too floral or assertive in the aroma. The flavor is a little metallic but has a nice sweaty hop profile. Not too bitter, very mild and easy to drink for an IPA. This was even the first beer of the night and it's still mild.

Deep white thick head. Rich reddish-amber color. Grapefruit aroma. The hops do prevail, with a dry finish. Another fine example of an IPA.

Great aroma immediately noticeable. Strong floral aroma with some sweeter notes. Nice half inch head and deep orange/golden honey color, slightly cloudy. Initial taste is Powerful. Strong body with a ton of hops. Nice malt undertones press in as the description says. Ends with a bitter floral flavor and aftertaste is a mix of flower petals and honey. A good IPA and the alcohol content is very well disguised. Aftertaste is a bit too one-sidedly bitter as it warms. Needs to be a bit more unique to really make this a really special beer. perfect carbonation in the bottle.

Pours a rich copper hue, with a light tan head. Floral hop aroma is prominent. Hop Ottin' is surprisingly strong and flavorful, with grapefruit and floral flavors and a bitter, long-lasting aftertaste. Sweet malts lurk in the background, as well. Overall a bit heavy on hops bitterness but still a strong contender.
