verymerrymonk (214), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA Nov 2, 2004 Light amber body with a small but bubbly white head. Very intense hop aroma, very floral. Slightly sweet in flavor, followed by fresh citrus and a hoppy bitterness. Well rounded. A very good, though not outstanding, brew.
MrBunn (928), Western, Pennsylvania, USA Nov 19, 2008 Bottle. Pour is a coppery amber with a smallish head and aromas of floral hops, a bit of a scotch-like peatiness and some mild caramel malts undertones. Flavor is much heavier in malt than I expected from the nose, and the hops balance things out nicely… a bit of a floral and resin bite balance things out nicely and finish with a scotch-ale-like aftertaste. This is pretty good, but it reminds me more of a scotch ale than an IPA. dkachur (999), Charlottesville, Virginia, USA Nov 16, 2008 12 ounce bottle. Pours an orange-amber color with a large
off-white head. Nice lacing and retention. Floral and citrus hop
aroma. Bitter hops taste, primarily citrus, with some leafy notes
and malty sweetness. Medium bodied with a sticky texture. Strykzone (1057), Wood River, Illinois, USA Nov 15, 2008 A copper colored pour with an attractive golden orange head that fades slowly and unevenly. Thick oily lacing remains. Plenty of visible carbonation. Aroma is sweet, floral, fruity, and lightly spicy. Quite bitter with all kinds of stuff going on in the flavor. Grapefruit that grows in prominence, light caramel, pine, honeysuckle, and candy cookies. Complex, interesting, and tasty! presario (2484), Calgary, Alberta, Canada Oct 30, 2008 Amber with a fair head. Quiet woody scent. Starts delicate in the mouth and then moves towards a sugary spicy joy. Beer relaxes into a woodsy middle with the same joy in each finish. Unique flavour profile which is unusual after so many hoppy beers. bkurtz (215), Guatemala Oct 25, 2008 Poured amber with nice head. Bitter hops hit you right away. Almost too hoppy, as they stay with you for awhile. Good brew, but would like a smoother finsh.
