Bottle. Really good stuff. Floral, hoppy aroma. Medium amber color with good lacing. Great balance in the flavor - sweet malts and lots of bitter, but great tasting hops. A keeper.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
355 ml bottle from beer-shop.it served into a pint glass. Little gushing. Pours a beautiful slightly hazy orange with a dirty white head. Great lacing. Inviting nose of citrusy hops, mostly orange and tropical fruits, some bubblegum notes, pine needles, caramel malts and just a hint of soap. Pleasent malt backbone to support the hops bitterness which is still dominant in the mouth, but without feeling unbalanced. Medium body, low to medium carbonation, creamy texture. Such a shame this is an old bottle (6 months from bottling) because I can only imagine how great it must taste when fresh. Still, a very solid IPA.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Almost clear deep yellow to orange appearance, medium head. Hoppy aroma but not totally standard IPA, slightly more grassy. Overall very good and satisfying beer.

Wonderful color and head, not too strong aroma, fruity and with a pleasant bitter finish. Alcohol is nicely hidden. Very good IPA.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Very amber. Pours with a nice, creamy head. So it’s surprising that it tastes so flat. Maybe it was just this can, but there’s no effervescence. Has that far back-in-the-throat hops taste. I love hops, but don’t love this particular type.

650ml bomber from Coop’s November Discovery Beer Bag (1 of 4, not re-rating Kilkenny, and my fanboy gushing over Aphrodisiaque remains the same).Clear golden amber pour with a decent white head that bubbles away to a ring. Aroma is strong with floral hoppy overtones, grapefruit, citrusy, piney, honey toasted malt. Taste is more of the same, dry piney hops and toasted honey malts dominating the flavour, with a hint of sweetness. Finish is dry, but balanced and satisfying. Delicious.

355ml bottle from Beers of Europe website (£3.39):
Caramel & lots of sweet malts and some brown sugar along with a bitter base. There is a definite hop filled aroma but these are more subtle than I had been expecting from a West Coast IPA and there is a floral smell to this. A good balance on the nose although a touch of alcohol manages to sneak through on the nose.
Caramel amber with a centimetre tall and foamy white head that halves in size and sticks to the sides of the glass after a few minutes.
Caramel and sweet malts hit you , following on well from the nose with some toffee and biscuit coming through as well. Again the beer is more malty than I anticiapted and there is a nice alcohol kick to it somewhere around the middle too. Some floral hops and a touch of tropical fruits & citrus at the end.
Smooth with a medium body and despite the malts overpowering the hops the beer is still a bitter one with a solid alcohol kick to it that I enjoyed. There was a very nice balance to the beer and a lot of depth too, keeping things interesting right until the death.
Pleasant beer and as I mentioned above, one that was a lot more malty than I had expecting with the sweetness and caramel taking a front seat over the usual grapefruit and pine hops but the beer still worked well and was a nice chance from the norm for an American IPA. A good balance throughout and the hints of alcohol too.
