RCL (973), Boston, Massachusetts, USA May 28, 2007 Ruby red grapefruit explodes through the aroma and tasting follows through with the grapefruit character.
1_2many (142), Ohio, USA Jul 19, 2008 Bottle from bigmmartin. Amber with a big impressive head. Pine and flower hop aroma rounded nicely with a lot of maltiness. Flavor is big on sweetness and bitterness. Very drinkable. Its good to try an IPA that seperates itself from the crowd. piscator34 (889), Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada Jul 19, 2008 Hazy orange in colour with moderate carbonation. Woodsy aromas dominate, with background notes of nuts and orange blossom honey. Flavor wise, there’s a fair amount of citrus-spice-wood C-hop flavor, along with a fairly honey sweet undercurrent of caramel malt notes. Not nearly as bitter as I wanted it to be... seems to be more of an APA in terms of hop/bitterness levels, but it’s still a fairly good beer overall. Thanks to radiomgb for traking this one down for me! Bigmmartin (137), Dayton, Ohio, USA Jul 17, 2008 Bottle. Darkish orange color with a thick head that leaves a ton of lacing. Has a deep sweet malt aroma accented by some flowery hops. The flavor is also very malty, more so than most IPAs...but you can still definitely taste the hops. One of the maltiest IPAs I’ve had, but it is still balanced out by a bitter hop finish. Interesting beer. HoppyGuy (78), USA Jul 17, 2008 Bottle. Pours a nice mahogany/orange color with a full off-white head. Aroma is of pine and hops with some citrus. Plenty of hops in the flavor, but a nice presence of malt to balance the act. A very good beer with great character. I’d like to pair this brew with pan fried trout, mixed greens and wild rice. blutt59 (520), Dallas, Texas, USA Jul 11, 2008 bottle, good crisp malty pine nose, orange color with soapy head, flavors of grapefruit and sugar cookies, nice bitter malt finish
