It is very refreshing, not too bitter, not too sweet, just right. I strive to brew a batch this hoppy. That said this is above average as a fine example of California Art of the Brewery. mookie (43), Tacoland, Texas, USA Jan 23, 2005 a perfect score. every one i’ve ever consumed has brought the greatest pleasure. nice opening. oozing hop aromas. color is beautiful, deep shiny golden copper. foam is dense, isn’t going anywhere. few bubbles. rich dry malt. bitterness so bold but not harsh. is soft on the palate yet firm. thick foam clings all the way down the glass with every pull. well balanced, ever solid, perhaps the pinnacle of the style American IPA. dangerously enjoyable. commercial description is great, ’honey-drenched malts’, so true Indy (87), Hopkins, Minnesota, USA Feb 1, 2006 Absolute perfection. This is one of my top five "desert island" beers.
