Amber pour with a creamy off white head. Dense citrusy aroma with a little bit of toasted malt. Oily mouthfeel to start, giving you a bit of toasty malt flavor before drying out. Big ’n’ rich IPA.

Great IPA! Pours a bright orangey golden with a thick finger of yellowish head. A sweet and resinous nose wit hbig citrus and grapefruit notes and light malts. Sweet honey and caramel middle with zesty hops and crispy grapefruit notes. Holy hell, resin and bitterness. overall, fantastic!

12oz bottle. Deep amber color, rich white head. Aroma of hops, loads of citrus, herbs, and BERGAMOT. Wow, what a nose. Sharp flavor of bitter hops. Nice malt backbone, some caramel character along with some biscuit. Loads of hops in the finish. Bitterness coats the palate almost to overwhelming levels. This is an all-American IPA! (3347)

From a can at house of brews. Really enjoyed this totally unexpected IPA. No hops in the aroma, more of a chocolate or caramel nose, hard to identify (for me) but not the typical hoptastic McHopPants of current IPAs. Really lovely to sip, not so much a session beer. Slightly cloudy, thin but satisfying head. Will look for again.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 LeftCoastRider (15) - , Washington, USA - MAY 24, 2012
This is a really good ale. Although it had a thin head and slightly cloudy tinge to the copper color, it had an amazing aroma and taste. The aroma was of tropical fruit - pineapple? And the taste had everything from caramel to orchard fruits, with lots o’ hops. 7% alcohol, so you’re not going to down three or four of these at a sitting (well, at least I won’t), but this is an enjoyable libation. Many years ago (20?), when my palate leaned toward full-bodied ambers, the Anderson Valley Brewing Company’s Amber Ale was my favorite beer. But now, the Hop Ottin’ IPA has taken its place, at least among AVBCo ales.

12 oz. bottle. Pours dark orange with a small, tan head. The aroma is caramel and pine and earthy hops. The flavor is strong bitterness, with a little malty backbone. The palate is watery, sticky and astringent. Overall, this is a fair IPA, but lacks subtlety and balance.
3.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 liinis (1153) - Helsinki, FINLAND - MAY 24, 2012
a bit of a disappointment as it gave me the impression there are too many ingredients conflicting with each other. lots of good things as the honey and ok hops but they are too much in war with each other

On draft in pint glass, pours a deep tawny amber, very clear with a decent bit of lacing and a thin sudsy foam on top. Not a strong aroma, unlike so many IPAS. This turns out to be the strong part of the beer. The malt is slightly sweet but firm, creating a smooth mouthfeel and swallow. The hops wrap around the malt, enhancing it but not overpowering. Tastes great and finishes extremely smooth, a great balanced IPAED, especially in these days as overhopped and overhyped IPAS seem to be the norm. A smooth, well balanced, and tasty IPA, great even if you’re not in a hop mood(I wasn’t). This is what IPAs should be, prominent flavor profiles that are still easily quafable.
4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 mixmasterob (677) - Marietta, Georgia, USA - MAY 21, 2012
New brewery to ATL, always a pleasure. Deep copper pour with a big, tight fluffy white head. Left tons of lace, very pillowy. A very pretty pour. Aroma was a bit laid back yet full of light and inviting notes of citrus and light pine. Small bits of caramel remained in the background but the hops were highlighted. Flavors were biscuity with caramel and citrus thrown throughout. Nice piney bitter finish, slick and smooth. Nice level amount of carbonation. Very Two Hearted in terms of intensity but struck a wonderful balance, awesome IPA.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 heminator (53) - Virginia, USA - MAY 19, 2012
Nice amber color, not much head/lace after pour from bottle. Nicely balanced, sits on the palate well. But ultimately a bit uninteresting in the flavor department. Bitter finish is good, but hops are a somewhat one-dimensional.
