16 ounce sample on tap at the Davis Graduate. Wow...either the lines are dirty, or there is a lot of intentional Brett in this beer. Somehwat lemony aroma with funky barnyard Bretty notes are present. Transparent golden body with a small white head present. Funky, Bretty slightly tart/sour start, which then has some lemony wheat malt chewiness in the middle. Finishes with more Brett tartness. Super funky. Not sure how much I like this, though. Definitely was not expecting this out of this beer (I had no description)
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 rmussman (1378) - California, USA - JUL 29, 2010
Sampled today at the brewhouse. Supposedly this is a barrel of wheat beer that was forgotten and found by a horse in their barn. It is a wheat beer that has been aged way too long. It is really sweet but has good wheat complexities. Good brew, worth a try but probably wont be around long.
