Belgian wheat beer aged in white wine barrels and allowed to become very slightly sour. This is a wonderful session beer for those of the “sour and funky” persuasion.

Crabapple nose, slight touch of butter. Hazy amber, medium head. Crabapple, twigs, funk. Finishes more distinctly wheaty. Light body, easy carbonation. Quite enjoyable when viewed as a nice sour ale. Probably should be reclassed as the catch-all sour/wild ale.

Sample @ EBF.

Appearance: Clear pale golden with a tall white head and some lacing.

Aroma: A bit spicy, not too expressive, fruity notes (apricots) and light bread.

Taste: Simple. Lemony notes, wheat, moderate acidity and light spiciness.

Palate: Light body, not watery. Medium carbonation. A bit fluffy mouthfeel. Interesting acidic finish with a bit of spices. Short duration of the aftertaste.

Overall: Easy to drink, mild and quenching. Interesting summer beer.

Revo. Just enough sour to keep it gods. Grass, tons of lemon, those terribly sweet yum-yum pickles that fools put on hamburgers, dry and tart. Crushed it without thought so I could get into something more excellent.

Draft at SB. Go, Fal, go! Man, this beer is rad. Pours a cloudy dark gold with a loose and sudsy white head. Bit tangy nose, hard to pin down, showing faint hints of candied lemons and grapefruits, a bit of sweet pickle, a bit of wet grassy funk, I dunno, it’s a beautiful and refreshing tartness as soon as you get a whiff. Creamy medium body with lively carb. Caramel, bread crusts, a bit of candied lemon, some mild sweet pickle, maybe a soft and subdued balsamic note way in the background. Tough to dial in precisely. Really gorgeous, and seems very singular. Not a lot of other beers around exactly like this one; maybe none. These days, that’s saying something--and this beer is not only new and different in its way, but it’s also made very well. This one could be an all-the-time beer, at least for sourheads.
