Belgian wheat beer aged in white wine barrels and allowed to become very slightly sour. This is a wonderful session beer for those of the “sour and funky” persuasion.

Pint on tap at Beer Revolution in Edmonton pours a slightly hazy pale copper color with a finger of white head that leaves only a small trace of lacing on the glass. Aroma is mild lemon and some cereal grains. Taste is a light lemon tartness with a grainy malty sweetness and a moderately dry finish. Light bodied with adequate carbonation. Overall, a decent brew for the style, quite tasty and balanced.

This beer has a bright red apple color. It has a slightly sour flavor. It is almost like a cider but has a really good sourness to it. I really really like it. Anderson valley is one of my favorite breweries. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On cask at Firkin Firkin. Very cloudy pour. Aroma of buttered popcorn, white wine. Tastes nutty wood popcorn. Strong lemons acid. Acidic creamy palate yet light. Chalk it down as a good food-like beer.

Pours a clear golden yellow with big fluffy white head that leaves moderate lace. Aroma is nice wheat malt with a hint of sour funk and musty grapes. Taste is more toward the funk and a nice balance of sour and wheat. Good carbonation, solid beer.

On tap at Beercraft. Pours pumpkin with a light tan head. Aroma is a little funky and horsey, dust and lemon candy. Flavor offers rough grainy notes along with a mild sourness. Better than expected for AV.

Sampled on draft at the House of 1000 Beers this beer poured a very bright golden color with a small foamy white head that faded quickly but left decent lacing. The aroma was tart and sour with notes of yeast and oak. The flavor was tart and sour with notes of citrus, yeast, pepper, wildflowers and oak. Medium length tart and sour yeast and wildflower finish. Medium body. Meh.

On tap at HOTB. Mild lactic tart aroma with carbonic gaseousness. Pale golden clear with creamy white lacing head. Medium-light body with medium-heavy carbonation. Starts with nice tart lactic-carbonic acidity and some wheat flavor. Mild funk. Tart and light astringent finish with lactic tang after. Little watery but nice flavor overall.

A hoppy berliner weisse, indeed! Pours a bright golden with a white head, the aroma is citrus wheat and is fantastic! The hops they used play perfectly with the tartness and finishes with a pleasant off dry bitter hop note. Crisp, light and drinkable, I really wish this was available in packaging, highly recommended for the style.
