COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
True to its Boontling moniker, “Huge Arker” is a massive force of nature that detonates on your tongue. After primary fermentation, the beer is aged in Wild Turkey® Bourbon barrels until it fully matures. The deep mahogany color is evocative of the opulence to follow. Dark luscious aromas of burnished oak mingle with candy sugar, bourbon and hearth-baked bread. The luxurious flavors redolent of honey and molasses are intertwined with the richness of dark chocolate and the ardent warmth of alcohol, underpinned with hints of coffee, vanilla and dark fruits.
ABV from 11% to 13.5% in 2014.

Pours jet black with a tan head. Aroma: caramel, floral, dough, and alcohol (bourbon). Taste is all sour and alcohol. I understand what they were trying to do but... it’s just out of balance. Palate is burning bitter alcohol with lingering stickiness. It’s decent but the bourbon is just over done.

Pours an opaque black with a small tan head that sticks a little to the glass. Aroma is bourbon, vanilla, candied sugar, oak, and some bready notes. Flavour is bourbon, oak, vanilla, alcohol, candied sugar, roasted malts, cocoa, and a mild dry finish. Very well balanced beer.

Pours an opaque black with a beautiful sticky legs up the glass look. Aroma of bourbon, vanilla, alcohol, chocolate, dried fruits, dates and wood. Taste is bourbon, vanilla, alcohol, dates, dark dried fruits, chocolate and a nice alcohol warming on the finish with a bit of a bite but overall balanced and complex.

The sweet bourbon flavor blends well with the strong stout flavor. Smoother and milder than the Anderson Valley Bourbon Barrel Stout but the flavors are still distinct.

Bottle to glass. Pours a deep brown to black color with a light brown head. Aroma is a solid chocolatey roasted malts with a nice bourbon and vanilla presence. Flavor is a bit thin, but has a solid vanilla and bourbon kick. Easy drinking on the palate for the style. Overall a very good BA stout.

Bottle that got my wife her mug at Special Brews! Pours a near black color with a moderate tan head on there. Nose has a fair amount of bourbon to it with a lot of roasting on there. Taste is slightly sweet with lots of bourbon coming through. Seems a bit boozy to me, but not unpleasantly so.

An amazing bourbon barreled stout. Pours a black color with a tan head. Smells of bourbon, vanilla and caramel. Taste is creamy, with quite a bit of vanilla and caramel, and lots of bourbon that lingers with a sweet finish. Warming. Had in the bottle.

Aroma brings rye whiskey (oddly enough) and big notes of raisin, tar, barrel wood, black licorice, fine chocolate, burnt dark malts and bourbon. Appears black with a thin brown foam. Taste is big complex dark fruits, raisins, plums, prunes, blackberries and black cherries upfront. Mid-palate brings big roasted notes, chalky cocoa nibs, coffee bean oils, slick maple syrup, candied caramel, dark roasted malts, roasted barley and black licorice. Finishes mildly boozy with big big bourbon burn as well as barrel wood, oak, toffee and chocolate. Overall, this is such a great bourbon barrel imperial stout. Such pronounced juicy dark fruit qualities.
