COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
True to its Boontling moniker, “Huge Arker” is a massive force of nature that detonates on your tongue. After primary fermentation, the beer is aged in Wild Turkey® Bourbon barrels until it fully matures. The deep mahogany color is evocative of the opulence to follow. Dark luscious aromas of burnished oak mingle with candy sugar, bourbon and hearth-baked bread. The luxurious flavors redolent of honey and molasses are intertwined with the richness of dark chocolate and the ardent warmth of alcohol, underpinned with hints of coffee, vanilla and dark fruits.
ABV from 11% to 13.5% in 2014.

This is really good for a super huge barrel aged imperial stout. It’s black with a creamy head. There’s lots of bourbon here but it’s not completely over the top, adding complimentary coconut and cherry notes which serve to emphasize chocolate notes from the roast malt. This is a big beer to be sure but does not come off as overly sweet despite its rich texture. This isa style that frequently runs me the wrong way but this one really works.

DuffMan (6886) - the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, CANADA - OCT 6, 2014
Bottle, shared with Parksy and Grippitis. Very dark brown with a finely bubbled tan head. Strong bourbon character here, quite sweet, with a body that seems thinner than I expect from a 13.5% beer. The bourbon is somewhat out of balance here, overriding any nuances that the beer might have. Not bad, but not a favourite of mine.

Bottle shared by Marcus. Pours black with beige head. Big bourbon aroma. Taste is very boozy bourbon. With oak and lots of roasted malts. Too much booze. But still good.

Bottle from Healthy Spirits. Pours dark brown with a modest tan head and a treacle and bourbon aroma. There is a very alcoholic dark molasses flavor with a finish that burns the palate. The flavor is trumped by the alcohol.

Nearly identical barreling to the smaller oatmeal stout. Black body, everlasting fluffy brown head. Not a huge fan of wild turkey, but they did such a good job with this one. doesn’t get hot til near room temperature, where the abv rears its head. smooth chocolate, vanilla, oak and bourbon throughout. excellent sipper, though it’s price point is a bit high for a "cheap" barrel."

Bottle. Pours black with a dark brown head that dissipates slowly and laces slightly. Aroma has vanilla, marshmallow and coconut that meshes well with roasted malts and dark grains. Flavor starts with dark grains and bitter roasted malts and finishes with a bit of coconut and vanilla.
