True to its Boontling moniker, “Huge Arker” is a massive force of nature that detonates on your tongue. After primary fermentation, the beer is aged in Wild Turkey® Bourbon barrels until it fully matures. The deep mahogany color is evocative of the opulence to follow. Dark luscious aromas of burnished oak mingle with candy sugar, bourbon and hearth-baked bread. The luxurious flavors redolent of honey and molasses are intertwined with the richness of dark chocolate and the ardent warmth of alcohol, underpinned with hints of coffee, vanilla and dark fruits.
ABV from 11% to 13.5% in 2014.

Bomber from Woodmans in Waukesha, cellar aged 6 months and shared by all at the 4th family get-together. Black pour with no head. Nose has vanilla, caramel, some chocolate. Ttaste is choco/caramel/vanilla. Light bourbon tang. Finished longer than expected, led by the vanilla. Solid although not impy stout-ish. 14.7

Bottle from Bar Gernika. Warm whiskey notes at first sniff, dark brown sticky body. Taste also brings the wood barrel notes on top of a robust RIS. Plenty of heat follows.

22 oz bottle served in a tulip. Pours deep inky brown with thin mocha lacy head. Aroma is roasty dark chocolate malt, boozy heavy sweet bourbon on the back. Taste is similar - big roasty chocolate flavor, plenty boozy, although tastes smaller than 13+%. Nice oaky, espresso, and huge bourbon notes throughout. Dark and bitter on the finish. Big heavy flavors, might need some age to come together. Still solid.

Pours black into a snifter. Mocha head with little retention recedes to mottle surface. Molasses, dark caramel, vanilla and oak aromas. Thick with sweet oak and chocolate upfront turning to hot vanilla and oak before the lasting dry bitter espresso finish.

Pours jet black with a tan head. Aroma: caramel, floral, dough, and alcohol (bourbon). Taste is all sour and alcohol. I understand what they were trying to do but... it’s just out of balance. Palate is burning bitter alcohol with lingering stickiness. It’s decent but the bourbon is just over done.

Pours an opaque black with a small tan head that sticks a little to the glass. Aroma is bourbon, vanilla, candied sugar, oak, and some bready notes. Flavour is bourbon, oak, vanilla, alcohol, candied sugar, roasted malts, cocoa, and a mild dry finish. Very well balanced beer.

Reimer96 (1513) - Alberta, CANADA - APR 2, 2015
Pours an opaque black with a beautiful sticky legs up the glass look. Aroma of bourbon, vanilla, alcohol, chocolate, dried fruits, dates and wood. Taste is bourbon, vanilla, alcohol, dates, dark dried fruits, chocolate and a nice alcohol warming on the finish with a bit of a bite but overall balanced and complex.

The sweet bourbon flavor blends well with the strong stout flavor. Smoother and milder than the Anderson Valley Bourbon Barrel Stout but the flavors are still distinct.
