True to its Boontling moniker, “Huge Arker” is a massive force of nature that detonates on your tongue. After primary fermentation, the beer is aged in Wild Turkey® Bourbon barrels until it fully matures. The deep mahogany color is evocative of the opulence to follow. Dark luscious aromas of burnished oak mingle with candy sugar, bourbon and hearth-baked bread. The luxurious flavors redolent of honey and molasses are intertwined with the richness of dark chocolate and the ardent warmth of alcohol, underpinned with hints of coffee, vanilla and dark fruits.
ABV from 11% to 13.5% in 2014.

Draught at Arcadium. Big dark pour with caramel notes, some light vanilla. Dark fruit in end. Boozy but incredibly good.

Bottle. Pours an opaque dark brown with a thin layer of beige head. Aroma and taste of booze, malts, and oak.

Pours nearly solid black with only a hint of mahogany around the margins, one finger of beige head diminishing gradually to a thin skim, moderate patchy lacing. (4/5) Nose is bourbon, boozy dark fruit, candi sugar, vanilla, oak, faint dark chocolate. (9/10) Taste is strong sweet, mild bitter. (8/10) Medium to full body, low carbonation and slightly syrupy, warming mildly bitter finish. (4/5) Well, it’s huge, I’ll give it that. But the hugeness derives from the aggressive alcohol burn and the strong, syrupy sweetness. I’m a bit surprised at the relative absence of stout character - yes, it’s dark, but the body actually tends to the light side, and there’s very little roast/coffee/chocolate character. What there is of that seems to be completely drowned out by the bourbon - and don’t get me wrong: I don’t mind bourbon, nor do I think this isn’t a good beer. It could just be a better one - especially for the truly ridiculous price. (16/20)

Bottle shared by Adam, thanks! Pours coca cola brown with a off white head. Aroma is caramel, dark chocolate, mild bourbon. Flavor follows, bourbon and oak heavier in the taste, than on the nose.

Bottle. Nice amount of fizzy head that laced the snifter. Aroma is oak, weak bourbon, mild smoke with a touch of molasses. I like the flavor a lot, tobacco leaves, earthy roasted malt, the body is a little lean but the mouthfeel isn’t a negative. Good roasted grain, whiskey and mild ground coffee. Good but for BA stout kinder of on the lower end.

Grabbed this in early 2014 in SF. Bomber in a snifter, very dark brown with reddish hues, light carbonation. The nose is pretty weak, some burnt sugar, cherry and pears maybe some chocolate but it’s all very faint. Taste is nice, very ashy and a bit of cigar leaves. brown sugar and some strange spices. Roasted espresso is faded just a bit of baker’s chocolate, finish is apple pie, cinnamon and sweetness.

Pours a really dark brown, almost black, with a decent dark tan head. Aroma is rich, notes of oak. The taste is a wonderful blend of aged whiskey, and malts, slightly sweet. Smooth and very drinkable. High alcohol is fairly well disguised. A great BA imperial stout. Thumbs WAY up!

Coffee, chocolate, bourbon, oak. Alcohol, burgundy, licorice, brown sugar. Active soft brown head on darkest brown. Stinging while light in the mouth, quick warming. Busy finish.

This is really good for a super huge barrel aged imperial stout. It’s black with a creamy head. There’s lots of bourbon here but it’s not completely over the top, adding complimentary coconut and cherry notes which serve to emphasize chocolate notes from the roast malt. This is a big beer to be sure but does not come off as overly sweet despite its rich texture. This isa style that frequently runs me the wrong way but this one really works.
