3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Draught @ Bittercreek - Pours a hazy amber with a medium tan head...aroma is floral hoppy and citric, with some dark sweet roasty malt...flavour is similar, nutty, roasty, grainy malt, biting hop bitterness to balance, lingering flavour... not an IPA, probably a Strong Ale...still quite tasty and enjoyable

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap @ Papago. Pour is deep ambers with traces of red underneath a creamy off-white head. Aroma is sweet with toffee, raisin, fig, and brown sugar. Flavor shows the same with bready malt reinforcement. Overall body is moderate to full, moderately sweet, and finishes with light bitterness.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Poured up on tap at the Chandler, AZ Whole Foods (who knew?) with deep clear copper body and nice looking tan head. The aroma offers up a good load of pine hops and then raisins and a faint level of black licorice. The taste is a bit thick with yummy rich prune, raisins and molasses notes. It later picks up a good level of pine hops to midway and carries nicely into the finish. The pine is only a supporting note here where the esters and malts are the forward component.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Tap at Toronado 22nd Anniversary. Supposedly this is a mix of Boont Amber Ale and a DIPA, so maybe IPA is not the best categorization. Dark amber-brown in color with a one-finger beige head and good lacing. Aroma is citrusy hops and chocolate/caramel malt. Flavor is sweet caramel malt, chocolate malt, nuttiness, mild roast, and citrusy hops, maybe slight hints of tropical fruit too. Medium palate, medium carbonation. Good beer overall.

on tap at papago 10/7/10.
dark reddish brown pour with a light tan head.
the aroma and flavor are quite hoppy... notes of toast, bready malt richness and pears cooked in nearly burned caramel.
medium to full body is dangerously quaffable. 7/4/7/3/16/3.7

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Tap. Dark orangish pour. Smell is enticing, more in depth than an amber with dark malts and hops playing off each other. Flavor was hard to place but I enjoyed it a lot. Candied fruits decent bitter but mostly malt.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Tap at Brouwerís. IPA? Thatís crap. This pours dark. Chocolate brown with a pretty decent head, and little to no hop presence. Lots of dry roasted grain in here, with some mild dark fruits and light molasses malts. Smells like a healthy cereal. Dry in the mouth, thereís a nice roasty quality to it... I actually liked this better than I was told I would. Not too bad. I appreciate that itís different from most other things Iíve tried - but this really needs a category switch - it isnít an IPA.
