Can from Whole Foods. Pours clear gold with 1-finger frothy off-white head. Nose is pale malt, resiny hops. Tastes ale malty, with piney hops, black peppery spice, and a watery finish.

Can at home in CT. Opens with a little gush. Pours clear gold, effervescent, with a billowing off-white head. Dry, piney hops in the nose, some toasty biscuits, orange rind. Light sweet flavor with some flinty minerals, bitter grass, pine needles, more rindy and pithy citrus. Light bodied with lively carbonation. Pretty dry and clean on the finish, with further bitter grass, pine, dry bread, light citrus accents. Not bad.

12 oz can with an incomprehensible code stamp on the bottom. A fine session pale ale, with less hoppy bitterness and earthiness than usually found in APAs. Fruity aroma and flavor with hints of lemons, oranges and tropical fruit punch. Pretty flavorful for a 4.2% PA. Mouthfeel: light body with medium+ carbonation that is notably soft. O: a good, but not great, example of the style.

Bright golden yellow body, a thick foamy head when poured into the glass goes away somewhat quickly. West coast hops, citrus, pineapple, dank hop aroma, a solid malt backbone that gives this beer a well rounded aroma. Flavors of citrus notes, pineapple, chives, and biscuity malts, smooth taste. Mouthfeel is medium, not to thick but solid. Overall its a good beer from Anderson Valley that hits exactly where they were aiming for.

Draught at the Anderson Valley Taproom, Boonville, CA. Slightly cloudy golden colour with a small white head. Sweet fruity hops, mild bitterness, orange and sweetish malt in the aroma. The flavour is resiny hops, moderate bitterness and dry maltiness. Highly drinkable. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Mild sweet grapefruit-like aroma. Hazy yellow amber body. Topped with a solid finger thick head. Dry citrus taste that has a hint of bitterness. Light on the maltiness. Very sessionable.

Store label date of 05.01.14. Poured from a 12 oz can into a tumbler on 06.06.14. A: See through gold body. 2 finger head that retains well. S: Strong grapefruit. Citrus. T: Flower and sweet malt dominate. Grapefruit and spices are subtle. M: Crisp. Watery, but it is a session pale ale. O: This one is balanced. It is not as strong in flavor as other session pale ales, but it is still good.

12 oz. can poured to a goblet displaying a hazed, orangey gold color, with fluffy, soft white head foam, and nice cling to the abundant, foamy lacing. The nose was floral, almost a little minty, with expressive resin, and back up scents of tropical fruit, and orange zest. The taste produced a strong, rind-like hop bitterness that lingered, almost overly heightened effervescence, and light creaminess to the mouthfeel, all in a light to medium body. A tasty, but highly hopped Pale, with minimal malt control.

Pours a hazy yellow color with a small head. Aroma has herbs and malts. The taste has bready malts up front with a touch of sweetness and lemon zest.

Can from Sugaya. Rich piney hop aroma, floral notes, and caramel behind it all. Hazy dark amber/honey color, 2-cm head, thick lace. Citrusy initial, rough bready maltiness, a bit peppery, grass, tea, quite earthy, and hop tracks which fade slowly. Medium body, with a fairly dry finish. Pretty good. Rather hoppy for a pale ale.

Can. Soapy, piny nose, fresh and strong with resin and a touch of citrus. Dull golden with slow, minimal carbonation and foamy beige head. Taste sweet and much more citric, especially lemon, and extremely woody throughout, impressively for something so light, just dank CTZ. Light and watery body, not crisp but refreshing indeed, cleans the palate. Dries somewhat by the end, weak caramel, and a surprising mineral/salty finish. I’d have again, pretty good daily gulp.
