COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Estate Hopped Pale Ale. This Estate Wet Hop Ale is brewed with 100% hand-picked Chinook and Cascade hops from our own hop fields located in Boonville, CA. Within hours of the harvest, these “wet” hops are added directly to the kettle, imparting herbal, hoppy aromas that hide hints of pine and garden-fresh green vegetable. The flavor has a crisp, hop bitterness supported by a light, bready malt backbone with undertones of toasted bagel. Although the bitterness is fairly high, the lean body and clean hop flavors giving this beer a high drinkability.

On tap @ Haven Gastropub. Golden pour with a slight haze and a fluffy white head. Aroma is kind of stale floral, grassy hops with a bit of orange pith. Sweet bread, sugar, and butterscotch. Meh. Flavor is much the same. Sweet butterscotch and bread along with a light grassy bitterness, flowers, and mild citrus. Not a fan.

Out of a bottle. Lots of herb and funky vegetable on the nose. Pours a light dusted gold that is clear. Taste is herbaceous with bitter finish. Some earth as well.

On draft at Good Beer, where it was called Mendocino Mellow. It looked suspiciously like a light green pale lager - but no worries, it turned out to be a tasty and fresh APA. Nicely hopped, with floral aromas and a light snap in the finish.

On draft at Tap 25. Wow, this was a weird one. It pours golden with a white head. The aroma was very confusing with some florals, butter, cotton candy and a little fruit. The flavor has more dry florals, but still has some butterscotch and caramel. Bready, floral finish. Below average for me.

Draft at Imbibe Wine (listed as Mendonesia on the tap handle that came from AV) Nose is Citrus, grapefruit, buscuity yeast, and a hint of pine. Murky yellow with an orange tinge and a big, heavy lacing pale yellow head. Flavor is bitter, white bread, and a hint of bubblegum and vanilla somewhere deep in the background.

On tap. Pours with a pale, crystal clear golden hued body with a massive white head that leaves great lace. Aromas are malty, toasty, nutty, floral, iced tea, low citrus, dank, marmalade. Flavors are of tea, nutty, marmalade, bready. Medium malt overall. Grassy, tangerine, citrus, orange. Grainy finish. Medium bitter balance. Grassy, dry, somewhat high carbonation.
