2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Average micro APA. I had this with some really spicey chili, so the hops were good to have in it. The appearance was pathetic, no head, no leacing, almost like water. Musky hop aroma though, not floral or herbal.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Fruity, floral hop aroma, a little earth, some light toasty and caramel maltiness. Medium golden color, clear, with a lasting, creamy head and fine lace. Just a bit of a malt hint to start, from them on it's all easy-going, citrusy, floral hop resins. Sweet, light finish, some lingering, flowery hoppiness. Light-medium bodied, effervescent palate. Would make a nice session beer.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: JUL 27, 2003 A rather malty and medium-bodied example. Hops well-integrated with malt. Maltiness is a bit bready, only a tiny bit sweet. Hop action packs a long lasting, very subtle tingle at the tip of the tongue. Good.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Hazy golden/orange color with a very nice thick white head. The aroma and flavor had some burnt grain, citrusy hops, flowery hops, apple, and some nice sweet malts. Soft carbonation, medium body.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Poured a light golden color with a medium head. Slight citrusy aroma with a mild hop bitterness to the taste. I like Anderson's IPA much better!

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
A little to light for me, but I was a little bit weary from the beginning with this one, and I was a little disappointed. Probably why I put off buying it for so long. Poured a lighte golden color, with a strong honey smell in the aroma, and in the taste, not very hoppy, unbalanced. It was not a bad tasting pale ale, but I have had better.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Poured a golden color with a white head. Light body. Very bitter grapefruit taste with not much malt to back it up.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
Golden colored, full of particulate matter, and topped with a white head. Honestly, did somebody pour grapefruit juice in my glass? Citric, bitter, acidic notes are notable in the aroma and dominate the flavor. I can almost taste small pieces of grapefruit. The aftertaste is actually sour due to this pale's one-dimensional nature. I thought the Arrogant Bastard was a grapefruity beer, but this one blows the old standard out of the proverbial hops and malt water, and not necessarily in a good way.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Light golden body with a thin lacey head. Fresh floral hoppy aroma throughout. Body is mellow, dry and bitter with an ok hop balance, but mostly bland and too much like most other pale ales...very little complexity.

Dark golden with a hint of orange. Large light cream colored head. Floral toasted sweet grapefruit aroma. Hint of yeast. Initial malt sweetness followed by a citric zest flavor. Light in body. Bitter finish with no malt to back it up. Standard APA.
