papajohn (1249) - San Diego (Mira Mesa), California, USA - DEC 26, 2003
Pours a murky golden honey color with a small white head. Nose is light sweet apricot. Flavor starts kinda sweet followed by a citric hop bite and a somewhat dry bitter aftertaste. Light on the palate, but a tasty pale ale.

Nice golden color, small head that dissipated quickly. The aroma was hoppy and malty with a slight citrus side to it.The taste was malty and citrusy with a nice hop taste coming on at the middle and the end.The finish is hoppy and slightly bitter with a nice citrus after taste .Not as bad as i was thinking this brew might be.Very pleasant and highly drinkable brew with a slight lawnmower like feeling.Well worth finding for a taste test.

Sham (1845) - Seattle, Washington, USA - NOV 15, 2003
Pours a very hazy gold, with a big head of small bubbles leaving spotty lacing. A very nice floral aroma dominates the nose. Flavors begin with a citrus fruit, maybe lemon, and trail into a bitter finish of hops. Very nice. Palate is smooth and pleasing. Surprisingly refreshing.

Bottle: Gold color - imagine that. Nice white head. Has pretty much the same hop character as the Hop Ottin'. This is a very good thing in my opinion. It seems to be almost a smaller version of the Hop Ottin'. Or maybe Hop Ottin' is just a bigger version of this?

The beer looks like any other of many pale ales head is good sized and long lasting. Rather nice hoppy aroma . The malts are to the fore in the first sip..but soon the hops take over..pretty good..again its that floral accent that I find in other Anderson Valley beers. Nice flavourful brew..above average.

Gold like the name would suggest. Very hoppy. Pretty grainy with good malts for balance. Finishes pretty clean.

color is golden with a little haze. had a pretty long lasting head. Pretty drinkable and easy to swallow. Seemed to be on the expensive side though.

Not bad. Pours a light gold color, not much aroma. Not my favorite style of beer, but drinkable none the less.
