Poleeko Pale Ale is an exceptionally flavorful and well-balanced beer. With a bright, citrus hop profile and mild malt flavors reminiscent of English biscuits, the aromas of pink grapefruit and lemon zest compliment the brisk, balanced finish to create a truly refined American Pale Ale.

MALTS: Pale Two-Row, Crystal (40L)
HOPS: Columbus, Nugget, Cascade

Note: Formerly Poleeko Gold Pale Ale.

Bottle. Pours golden with a small white head. Aroma of citrus, sweet malts, and a slight hoppiness to the nose. Flavor is sweet malts, citrus, pine, and finishes with some bitterness. Good body, drinkable.

A nose more like a premium lager, piney and bitter. Flavor is surprisingly more bitter (hoppy) than i expected for a pale ale. Flavor is hops, great malts, sweet. People say that pale ales are boring and lacking this, or that. This is definitely proving them wrong. A kick ass pale ale, and another good brew from the boys at AVB.

Just another APA in my book. Nothing done wrong here, maybe a bit thin on flavor and mouthfeel, but this one didnít stand out (who canít brew an APA like this?). Western US hops were present: resinous, pine, light citrus. Pretty thin on the mouthfeel and only ok on the flavor. Go with the ESB if you want a better APA tasting beer.

Bottle. Deep golden color with small head. Light citrusy and floral aroma. Also the flavor is light with malt, citrus, orange and some sweetness. Citrus, malt and some bitterness in the finish. This bottle has some symptoms of oxidation.

Bottled. Hazy light copper color with a white head. Aroma of honey and dirty feet- Iím not kidding! Rather middle of the road flavor, more on the malty side. I cannot drink it however since I canít get it to my mouth without smelling it. I will have to re-rate this beer, this (I Hope) may be a bad bottle. Iíd never expected to Anderson Valley to make something like this.

Bottle: Almost cloudy, gold color with a small white fizzy head. Sweet hoppy aroma as well as a "sweet" hoppy taste. Creamy feel with a lingering bitter trailer of mild juniper berries and soap. I like this one -- not my favorite pale ale, but quite drinkable.

UPDATED: AUG 26, 2006 Bottle Pours a very pale slightly hazy golden color with a nice puffy white head. Lots of sturdy lacing. Full malty aroma, sweet with honey and bread notes. Flavor was hoppier than I expected more of the styles Indian brethren. Soft carbonation and a nice full feel. Dry bitter bite at the end.

I cant believe I forgot to rate this years ago. While looking at Brother Davids stuff, I noticed this one was unrated. I have been drinking this for years. Orange colored, smells sweet and hoppy. Taste is the same, an average APA but something that is readily avaliable and drinkable.

A hazy orange beer with a light orange head. The aroma is sweet malty with light notes of fruits and raspberries. The flavor is sweet malty with light notes of oranges. The body is a bit thin.
