COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Poleeko Pale Ale is an exceptionally flavorful and well-balanced beer. With a bright, citrus hop profile and mild malt flavors reminiscent of English biscuits, the aromas of pink grapefruit and lemon zest compliment the brisk, balanced finish to create a truly refined American Pale Ale.

MALTS: Pale Two-Row, Crystal (40L)
HOPS: Columbus, Nugget, Cascade

Note: Formerly Poleeko Gold Pale Ale.

Pours a pale amber with thick creamy head and foamy lacing. Strong note of pine with a hint of hay. Bitter taste with a long finish. Crisp and dry.

On tap. A hazy golden color with a slightly diminished white head. The aroma was that of a typical pale ale - slightly fruity. The flavor was not hoppy like a typical pale, but dominated by a lemony bite. This is a unique beer that made an impression on me. Excellent.

UPDATED: APR 29, 2008 This is a pretty good, but basic American-style ale. It’s slightly hazy light gold-amberwith a medium, fairly creamy white head that slowly diminishes to a ring and wisps, leaving some pretty decent lace. The aroma is light, pear, grapefruit, light grain and crackers. The taste is pleasant, fairly crisp, easy to drink, smooth, and rather light. but keeps its taste and body throughout. It is light but dominant grapefruit with light grain, crackers, pear, and apple, with a light grainy aftertaste following a slightly bitter, grapefruit-dominated finish. It goes pretty well with food and i easy to drink, with pretty good sweet-bitter balance. However, while the grapefruit doesn’t overtake the beer, it is a little too dominant (my wife said it just tastes like grapefruit juice to her), which is a common problem with US beers for me, and it is a bit bland and boring. However, it’s solid and it seems like what Dempsey’s Petaluma Pale Ale and Third Street Aleworks Gold Standard are trying to b like, but it is a little more successfull.

It's gold. It's pale. Slightly opaque. Aroma has a hint of pineapple. Slightly hopped. A little bit of everything, including being a bit bland. Easy to drink, though.
