A honey gold, pale ale that is crisp and clear, with an unusual lightness and dryness.

Picked up a bomber bottle from Bevmo in San Diego, California, and tasted from a tulip glass. I was surprised how inexpensive this beer was, but I really enjoy the Anderson Valley Hop Ottin IPA, so I figured Iíd give this one a shot too. It pours a golden yellow color with a fairly large fluffy white head that leaves moderate lacing. Actually, itís a nice-looking beer. Aromas are of tangy, sweet lemon, and flavors are really fruity as well, but with tea-like undertone, and a long, lingering bitterness in the finish. Body is fairly light, with a soft-feeling carbonation. The bitter finish is maybe a little more sharp and one-dimensional than I would like, but overall, this is a pretty tasty and drinkable beer. Not amazing, but decent.

Poured from a bomber to an effervescent gold with a nice white head and a bit of lacing. Nice hop aroma, but the hops didnít visit my taste buds. Also has a bit of fruit and fresh grain in the taste. A bit of a weird taste on the lingering finish. Itís okay, and definitely drinkable on a nice warm day.

Easy grounded pale ale with flavors of yeast and light hops. A little bitter.

Bottle 355ml at home, as ANderson Valley Poleeko Pale Ale, poured into a tulip, ABV 5% Clear body, light orange in colour, with a good sized white head, with good retention, leaving heavy lacing on the glass. Aroma is sweet, with very light citrus and some malts. Taste has some citrusy hops, light grapefruit, fresh grass. Mildly bitter aftertaste Medium thin body, average carbonation, light dryness on the palate. Overall an average but drinkable pale ale.

Average micro APA. I had this with some really spicey chili, so the hops were good to have in it. The appearance was pathetic, no head, no leacing, almost like water. Musky hop aroma though, not floral or herbal.

Not bad. Pours a light gold color, not much aroma. Not my favorite style of beer, but drinkable none the less.

Hazy orange-tinted golden colour with a super-dense co2 injected white head. Aroma of super cascades-just like Hop Ottin'! Light to Medium-bodied; Sharp bloody taste of metal with a nice hoppy flavour with a missing malt background. Aftertaste clean-some citrus and hops show though, not much through! Overall, a decent APA, lacking comparing to the pleasant aroma though! I sampled this twelve ounce purchased from Chevy Chase Wine & Spirits in Washington, D.C. on 29-December-2003.

clear golden color, white bubbly head, aroma is citrusy, hoppy, and malty, fruity and toasty; flavor is bitter, with a decent hop bite, citrus, and some light maltiness, smooth but not a lot in terms of texture, lightly dry and acidic, disappointing

UPDATED: JUN 22, 2004 (22-ounce bottle, $3) Nothing all that special here; A lighter flavored pale ale with a mild malt flavor that is somewhat dominated by a moderate bitterness from the fresh tasting hops; This really needs a more robust maltiness; It's also mildly sour, but like grapefruit, so it's not a bad sour; The fairly dry palate is medium bodied but perhaps just a tad thin; The nose is moderately hoppy but there's little else going on; Light golden in color and somewhat cloudy; The head is off-white in color, has solid retention, and leaves a fair amount of patchy lacing

Golden yellow in color, as they say. But nothing out of the ordinary as far as crisp-clean light or dryness. I tasted the honey, and felt it was ok.
