Papsoe (14642), Frederiksberg, Denmark Aug 15, 2009 On tap. Clear amber golden with an off-white head. Lightly sweet roasted malt in the nose. Medium body with strange toffee-like accents - maple syrup? No bitterness. Strange brew indeed. 120709 Crafty07 (391), Florence, Kentucky, USA Aug 7, 2009 Delicious hazy copper cream ale, this seasonal is smooth, light, dry, and very drinkable. The rating is low on ratebeer (big shock) but I notice it’s the 12 highest rated cream ale.
So, what does that say about the rating system? or the reviews who dont give this excellent example of this style very high marks.
If you haven’t tried it, give it a try.
I have to agree with a recent reviewer, though, it’s a bit creamy and sweet for a summer beer..perfect autumn, though. Cornfield (4892), Oak Forest, Illinois, USA Aug 6, 2009 Single bottle from the Binny’s in Orland Park, IL: This poured a clewar copper body with a smallish off-white head and a little spotty lacing. The aroma has a sweet fruitiness with toasty grain and a dollop of caramel. The flavor is that of slightly soured caramel apples with a sprtiz of tonic water. Not something I’d care to repeat. fata2683 (836), Panama City, Florida, USA Aug 1, 2009 on tap, pours a light amber with next to no head. Aroma is light and sugary with a little bit of malt shining through. Very sweet maltyness with light carbonation, ends dry. yespr (11645), Copenhagen O, Denmark Jul 27, 2009 From tap at Jupiter. Pours clear and golden deep orange with a small white head. Light fruity and roasted malt aroma. Dry malty and slight flat flavoured. Light fruity touch. Vague wooden touch to it. Dry and slight flat malty finish buzzoven (333), Japan Jul 25, 2009 Ahhh...so this is a Cream Ale. I thought it tasted super creamy when I enjoyed this on a wonderful summer afternoon lounging at Kasairinkaikoen with my beautiful soulmate. The colour was very nice..a tawny mohaghany leather tan with a fluffy head and some carbonation bubbles racing upward. Had a delicious smell of apricot, yam, floral hints as well. Tasted like an alcoholic cream soda. Might have actually been too creamy for a summer day. Would be perfect autumn pint material. changeup45 (782), Orlando, Florida, USA Jul 25, 2009 Pours deep amber with a thin head that yields spots of lacing. Malty, cream, some light spicy hops but everything really does take a back seat to the cream flavor, which doesn’t do it for me. Cream soda comparisons are justified. Overall not a bad beer at all for the summer. I enjoyed the one I had enough in the hot sun after some painting but this won’t be something I will seek out too often. arondee (173), Tucson, Arizona, USA Jul 22, 2009 Pours a dark copper brown with a medium white head. Aroma is sour fruit. Taste is sour cherries and cream.Very smooth and easy to drink but pretty boring after a while. It reminds me of a sour cream soda without any sweetness.
