Complexity. Aged for three months in Wild Turkey Bourbon barrels, this luxurious stout has a deep ebony hue and a beautiful mahogany head. The woody, vanilla-like notes imparted by the barrels mingle with aromas of fresh baked bread, toffee, and espresso and envelop the rich chocolate and roasted barley flavors with a fine bourbon character. Our exclusive partnership with Wild Turkey gives Anderson Valley a world class, consistent source of barrelage, allowing our brewers to explore new frontiers in barrel-aged craft beer.

Bottle, shared at the lake with Parksy, May long weekend. Dark brown with a creamy beige head. Sweet bourbon and chocolate malts in terrific balance. Like a younger brother of a BA impy. Drinks bigger than its 6.9%.

Bottle. Pours pitch black with a beige, little bobbled head that stays to the end. Aroma of bourbon, roasted malts, coffee, chocolate, vanilla. Taste of roasted malts, chocolate, vanilla and of course bourbon. Medium body, light carbonation. Delicate bitter aftertaste. Beer has velvet texture. The bourbon aftertaste fills all mouth and stays for some time. Something wonderful.

Keg at Leilani’s on the beach, Maui, 26/04/14. Black with a good sized tan covering that retains well. Nose is bourbon forward, Bounty bar, coconut shavings, light roast, chocolate. Taste comprises chocolate milkshake with bourbon, light roast, toasted coconut, woody twinge, dark toffee fudge. Medium + body, fine carbonation, smooth on the palate, trace of bourbon and subtle booze in the close. Nice easy drinker, a little 1D, but a pleasant drop none the less. An ideal beer to introduce someone to the world of BA stouts.

Visual: Pours ultra-dark brown/black with a decent sized dissipating head, a thin layer of retention, thin lacing, lots of steady streams when held up to the light. Nose: mildly aromatic roasted malts with hints of fishiness/nuttiness. (lvl-2)-pungency Attack: oily light-thick silky-fizzy mouthfeel Mid-palate: light tingly, (lvl-6)-sweetness, (MAIN) dense lightly roasted malts, toffee, chocolate, vanilla, coffee Finish: airy, clean malty bittersweet coffee finish Summary: A very clean and sippable stout without much sourness or jaggedness. High quality, but a little soft with the body and depth.

Fra fad, Taphouse. Rødbrun, meget lille beige skumtop, lav karbonering. Heavy whiskey-næse. Sødlig ristet, masser af træ. Brød, toffee. Savner til gengæld lidt krop. Ikke meget bitterhed til at balancere sødmen. Ikke mig

Plus a solid black with a tan head and lacing. It has a somewhat faint aroma of bourbon and toasted malt. The flavor is toasted malt up front with a solid bourbon backbone and a toasty, dry finish over a smooth body. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Maple and bourbon. Alcohol. Barrel aging isn't overpowering, which is nice, but palate is pretty thin. Pretty good, but needs improvement.
