COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Complexity. Aged for three months in Wild Turkey Bourbon barrels, this luxurious stout has a deep ebony hue and a beautiful mahogany head. The woody, vanilla-like notes imparted by the barrels mingle with aromas of fresh baked bread, toffee, and espresso and envelop the rich chocolate and roasted barley flavors with a fine bourbon character. Our exclusive partnership with Wild Turkey gives Anderson Valley a world class, consistent source of barrelage, allowing our brewers to explore new frontiers in barrel-aged craft beer.

UPDATED: JUN 18, 2014 Black pour with brown head. Aroma is bourbon, chocolate cake. Flavour has coffee, chocolate, burnt toast . Finish has big bourbon character along with burnt toast. The barrels really overpower though out.

Poured into tulip from 22oz bottle. Aroma was dark fruits, raisins and dates, a little plum. Taste was roasted malts, earthy, dark fruits and a little chocolate. The Wild Turkey came on in the finish and was the aftertaste. Most of these barrel beers I taste seem to have a bit of the whiskey flavor but the finish of this one was pure whiskey. I loved this one, and I think it was my favorite bourbon beer yet.

Aroma of roasted malt, vanilla, chocolate, tobacco, bourbon, oak. Flavour is roasty, sweet vanilla, chocolate. Not as rich and thick as some of the BBA Imperial Stouts I’ve had, but this is one you can order in a bar without getting absolutely wasted.

Bottled:
Eye: Black with a mid-sized head.
Nose: Toffee, licorice, roasted malt.
Mouth: Soft and round body.
Tongue: Lots of Bourbon. Some booze.
Brain: A little bit too much Bourbon. It should’ve been stronger.

Not that good, the bourbon barrels definitely gave this alcohol heavy beer a distinctly raw edge. Not for the faint of heart or palate.

Black pour with a khaki head. The nose is wonderful. Aromas of chocolate, oak, coffee, and bourbon. Flavor is a let down. Very thin body and the nose characteristics don’t carry over in the same way to the flavor. This beer smells a lot better than it tastes. Not bad, but not what I was expecting and certainly not what I wanted.

pours with a creamy dense tan head. Nice aromas of bourbon and wood, with overtones of chocolate. The taste is espresso, chocolate and bourbon. Creamy yet fairly dry, smooth but not overly sweet. finishes with notes of chocolate and bourbon and a linger dry woody note. more reasonable in the alcoholic strength department then some bourbon barrel aged stouts, and - delicious

Bottle. Black beer, beige head. In aroma chocolate, wood, bourbon, roasted malt. Very creamy, in taste same as in aroma with a great bourbon aftertaste. Low carbonation, medium body. Great beer which mixes stout and bourbon in a great way.
