Complexity. Aged for three months in Wild Turkey Bourbon barrels, this luxurious stout has a deep ebony hue and a beautiful mahogany head. The woody, vanilla-like notes imparted by the barrels mingle with aromas of fresh baked bread, toffee, and espresso and envelop the rich chocolate and roasted barley flavors with a fine bourbon character. Our exclusive partnership with Wild Turkey gives Anderson Valley a world class, consistent source of barrelage, allowing our brewers to explore new frontiers in barrel-aged craft beer.

Had on tap at Bier Garden. Was expecting better, but will make a point to try again from the bottle. Was served way too cold (think Bud Light cold) and somewhat stale. Would not return to Bier Garden for a quality beer experience. Decent stout flavors, pretty complex but the Bourbon was overpowering to me. Want "bourbon aged" to add a subtle note to my beer- not feel like I am drinking beer with a shot of Wild Turkey. Drinks on the sweet side, but fairly smooth. Decent mouthfeel. Pours jet black with a decent looking reddish/tan head. Nice on the nose. Palate just overpowering.

Pours black and rather clear, hardly any head on it. Aroma of bourbon, coffee, and vanilla hits the nose. Taste was coffee, chocolate, bourbon, wood, and vanilla. Decent beer, and relatively low alcohol for this style.

Bottle - 650ml. Pours an opaque black body with an average beige foamy head. Fantastic, complex malty/hoppy aroma with bourbon, chocolate, and vanilla hints. Its robust malty taste carries hoppy, woody, and bourbon notes. It is not as rich as the aroma but it is still very enjoyable. Ends with a decent, slightly warming, bittersweet finish. Good stuff.

6.9% alcohol. Stout has an excellent blend of chocolate and coffee, which is a big plus. It might have a bit more chocolate. The whiskey flavor is strong too.

Bottled from Systembolaget Black with a beige head. Wood, coconut and vanilla in the aroma. More coconut in the flavour. Rather light body and bitterness. Surprisingly bland.

22oz. bottle, date unknown. Aroma of iced coffee, dark chocolate, roasty malts, slight bourbon, and touches of vanilla in the background. Solid ebony in color with a lasting, fine-bubbled, light tan head, very nice lacing here as well. Flavor profile is a tad more woody and oaky than let on by the nose, with plenty of dark roast, earthiness, chocolate and some faint bourbon and cherry in the background, finishing with a touch of hop bitterness. Smooth, creamy and full on the palate with a generous body. Simply rendered but rather pleasant overall.
