COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Complexity. Aged for three months in Wild Turkey Bourbon barrels, this luxurious stout has a deep ebony hue and a beautiful mahogany head. The woody, vanilla-like notes imparted by the barrels mingle with aromas of fresh baked bread, toffee, and espresso and envelop the rich chocolate and roasted barley flavors with a fine bourbon character. Our exclusive partnership with Wild Turkey gives Anderson Valley a world class, consistent source of barrelage, allowing our brewers to explore new frontiers in barrel-aged craft beer.

Found this on tap at the Yard House in Chino Hills. Barney Flats aged in a bourbon barrel! Iíve tried many stouts that have been aged in bourbon barrels some are good and some are so over powered by bourbon and oak that they taste like soy sauce. The good news is Anderson Valley nailed this one. If you Enjoyed the Barney Flats Oatmeal Stout like I did this is gonna rock your world. The Appearance is Black l and it had a 1" head that stuck around for little while leaving a nice little lacing on the glass. The aroma is intoxicating in itself, bourbon ,oak, cocoa, and coffee up front and sharing the stage nothing really overpowering the other. The mouth feel is smooth and creamy as expected from an oatmeal stout. It taste like it smells except the malts and hops come forward and add tho the blend. The mild after taste is just like it smells mild bourbon and oak burn with chocolate. My new Favorite. Now if I can just find it in Bottles around here.

Bottle at a tasting. Bourbon and stout elements married in harmony here. Coconut, woody, liquorish. Restrained roastiness, rather dried fruits. Good, not great.

Bottle kindly shared by Miro, many thanks. Very dark brown color with medium beige head. Aroma of dried fruits, plums, dark malt. Taste, red fruits, red berries, light dark malt. Too much fruity for stout, but overall good.

Excellent color, fast and aroma. Bourbon, slight chocolate, with a very nice vanilla finish thatís not heavy. Bourbon aroma & taste throughout makes for a very good beer. Order again in a heartbeat!

Bottle. Almost black pour, reddish highlights. Couple fingers of dark tan head that did not last long and didnít leave much in the way of lace. Quite sweet aroma, milk chocolate, vanilla, not a lot of bourbon. Whiskey comes though more in the taste. still quite sweet, heavier toffee. Fine.

Bomber. Pours a dark brown with a dissipating tan head and aroma of bourbon and vanilla. Taste is full of bourbon as well, with alcohol, vanilla, and mocha notes into the finish.

With Z, pours a deep black pour with a beige head. Nose is whiskey, sweet vanilla and mocha. Taste is rich sweet malt with mocha and vanilla notes. Finishes on the same sweet tasting notes, dryly with a moderately long finish . Well balanced and very drinkable stout. quaff score 7 / 10

Dark, rich and complex. Bourbon flavors shine. Only slightly boozy though. Warming and enjoyable. Review after the fact; tasted out of a bottle share at the Hop Yard Raleigh.
