COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Complexity. Aged for three months in Wild Turkey Bourbon barrels, this luxurious stout has a deep ebony hue and a beautiful mahogany head. The woody, vanilla-like notes imparted by the barrels mingle with aromas of fresh baked bread, toffee, and espresso and envelop the rich chocolate and roasted barley flavors with a fine bourbon character. Our exclusive partnership with Wild Turkey gives Anderson Valley a world class, consistent source of barrelage, allowing our brewers to explore new frontiers in barrel-aged craft beer.

Bottle pours black with a medium light brown head, decent lacing. Aromas of sweet bready malt, vanilla, and alcohol. Taste is complex, notes of bourbon, oak, roasted malt, and spice. Strange yet interesting.

13/II/15 - 1Pt. 6Fl. Oz. bottle from Bierhalle Deconinck (Vichte) @ home - BB: n/a (2014-179)

Clear dark brown beer, big creamy beige head, pretty stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: sweet, vanilla, caramel, milk chocolate, cocoa powder. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: sweet caramel start, lots of vanilla, dark chocolate, cocoa powder, slightly sourish. Aftertaste: sweet, caramel, dried fruits, more chocolate, vanilla, bit sugary.

Bottle. Pours black with beige head. Strong rich aroma of bourbon and espresso. Flavor has more complexity with vanilla, oak, and chocolate. I do wish this was fuller bodied, maybe a bit higher ABV to balance out this stout.

A nice brew. Aroma is coconut, chocolate, roast and bourbon. Taste is full of figs, prunes, roasted flavors, chocolate, coconut, and barrel notes. Lots going on here. Biggest complaint for me is the watery consistency of the brew. Overall I think it’s great though.

On tap at the Yard House. You can smell the bourbon in the aroma along with chocolate. Great roasted black malt taste with a light boozy kick from the Wild Turkey barrel. The alcohol is a little low for this, but the body is lighter so it’s kind of light overall. Great wood aged stout.

500 ml or so bottle at home. Pours dark brown with a decent light beige head. Aroma is nice and subtle vanilla, bourbon and some oak, milk chocolate as well... Light body, nice vanilla flavours, cold ligt coffee, aftertaste of mocca (?). Allbeit very watery though. The body & taste are inferior to the aroma...

Bottle: clear, dense, medium head but poor lace. Lifted cocoa and vanilla. Medium intensity. Dry, not sour and low bitterness. The palate is reasonably fresh and balanced but lacks the weight and flavor I expected from a barrel ages stout.

MY 500th RATING! 22 oz. bomber. Pitch black with a tan head that laces the glass nicely and hangs around for a bit. Aroma is bourbon (duh) and caramel, maybe vanilla. Unlike a lot of bourbon beers, this one isn’t overly sweet, and it goes down very smoothly. Nicely done.

Excellent Stout. Very wine aroma and taste. Feels prunes and oak tones. Partly acidity adds fullness of taste. Very Well.
