COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Complexity. Aged for three months in Wild Turkey Bourbon barrels, this luxurious stout has a deep ebony hue and a beautiful mahogany head. The woody, vanilla-like notes imparted by the barrels mingle with aromas of fresh baked bread, toffee, and espresso and envelop the rich chocolate and roasted barley flavors with a fine bourbon character. Our exclusive partnership with Wild Turkey gives Anderson Valley a world class, consistent source of barrelage, allowing our brewers to explore new frontiers in barrel-aged craft beer.

It pours black with a deep brown head. The is a definitive bourbon aroma that is present. There is a hint of bread malts. There is a toffee taste mixed with bourbon flavoring and espresso. It has a rich texture with an alcohol kick on the palate.

Old rating, pretty good beer not a great BA beer though. Coffee and roast from the stout. Vanilla and hear from the barrel. Decently balanced. No pop. Guy at liquor store tried to offer me this up as a replacement for KBS. Ha.

Sweet and flavorful. You can definitely tell it was aged in Wild Turkey barrels. Strong by separate Stout and Bourbon flavors. Overall very good.

There is a mild smell of bourbon ini the nose. Otherwise innocent in the aroma. The mouthfeel of the beer is excellent, lots of maltiness. The taste has strong notes of vanilla and is a little plain otherwise.

The Cannery Row Beer Club were not a huge fan of this one. We don't recommend.

Wild Turkey barrel aged stout with opaque black colour under a medium thick, creamy, tan, lacing head with good retention. Perfumey, sweet and liqueurish aroma of cappuccino, pancakes, meat broth, marzipan, walnuts, nougat, raisins, banana, chocolate sauce, bourbon, big vanilla-like tannins, kahlua of coffee liqueur, rose petals, marmelade, mint, home made caramel, burning pipe tobacco, mocha ice cream. Taste begins with dried fruits, less sweet than expected actually, minerally with medium carbonation, candied orange touch, becoming sweeter as it progresses, slick and oily body (not very thick), syrupy malt sweetness, very caramelly and chocolatey, smooth and creamy, spreading widely over the tongue like a very liquid chocolate sauce; finish has a gentle roasted bitterness, a bit coffee-like but not overly so, lingering chocolatey sweetness, lots of elegant, vanilla-like oak tannins and a hint of bourbon, warming the throat but not too wry or burning, aided by a presence of lightly citrussy hops adding some subtle bitterness; however, sweetness and booze dominate the ending. Very pleasant stout, easily drinkable, sweet and gentle, with a lovely bouquet.

Láhev 650 ml. Aroma je sladké s nádechem bourbonu, lehce alkoholu, dubu a jemně čokolády. Pěna je světle hnědá, jemná, vysoká a poměrně držící. Barva samotného piva je temná. Chuť je jemná, sladká s lehkým ovocným nádechem s náznakem dubu v pozadí, finiš je jemný, slabě hořký a držící. V ústech pivo působí plně, má střední říz a je dobře pitelné. Jedná se o dobrý barelovaný stout, snoubená jemnost se znatelným zráním v sudu mu dodává jistou chuťovou originalitu a lahodné aroma.

Pours a black cola with a dark tan head (clinging lace). Easy five point appearance rating from a finicky observer. Aroma strengthens as the head wears thin: caramel, bread, hay, cereal, nuts, roasty, grassy hops, dough, cheese, leather, alcohol, banana, bubblegum, wow, awesome. Taste is near perfect balance but hard to rate a ten... oak is prevalent. Palate is nearly as strong with only a slight stickiness. It’s a super great brew... don’t know why I hesitate to rate it so high.

Draught at The Roundhouse. Nice whiskey spice kick, rich dark malt, raisin, mocha, hints of oak, warming alcohol finish. A solid stout with a pleasant bourbon edge.
