COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Complexity. Aged for three months in Wild Turkey Bourbon barrels, this luxurious stout has a deep ebony hue and a beautiful mahogany head. The woody, vanilla-like notes imparted by the barrels mingle with aromas of fresh baked bread, toffee, and espresso and envelop the rich chocolate and roasted barley flavors with a fine bourbon character. Our exclusive partnership with Wild Turkey gives Anderson Valley a world class, consistent source of barrelage, allowing our brewers to explore new frontiers in barrel-aged craft beer.

Poured into tulip from 22oz bottle. Aroma was dark fruits, raisins and dates, a little plum. Taste was roasted malts, earthy, dark fruits and a little chocolate. The Wild Turkey came on in the finish and was the aftertaste. Most of these barrel beers I taste seem to have a bit of the whiskey flavor but the finish of this one was pure whiskey. I loved this one, and I think it was my favorite bourbon beer yet.

Probably one of the best looking beers I have ever seen. Pours jet black with a incredible big mocha head. Aroma is of vanilla, chocolate, and big bourbon booze. I tasted the roasted malts and chocolate at first and then it just gets too bourbony overtime. The bourbon just dominates this stout too much. Has a heavy body with low carbonation. Has a dry mouth feel with a great boozy warmth. I would enjoy this on a sleigh ride though, too warm me up.

6.9% on tap at Marciero. Pitch black with ruby highlights. Dark rich aroma featuring licorice and oaky bourbon. Medium bodied. The taste is rich dark chocolate, a bit toasty, balanced bourbon with oak & vanilla notes plus a hint of licorice.

0.65l bottle. Black body, light brown head. Aroma of chocolate, vanilla, cream, cocoa and some smoke. The taste is very balanced among the chocolate, vanilla, bourbon, dark fruits, floral hops and the oak. The body could be a bit thicker, but it’s still an awesome beer.
