COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Complexity. Aged for three months in Wild Turkey Bourbon barrels, this luxurious stout has a deep ebony hue and a beautiful mahogany head. The woody, vanilla-like notes imparted by the barrels mingle with aromas of fresh baked bread, toffee, and espresso and envelop the rich chocolate and roasted barley flavors with a fine bourbon character. Our exclusive partnership with Wild Turkey gives Anderson Valley a world class, consistent source of barrelage, allowing our brewers to explore new frontiers in barrel-aged craft beer.

Tastes of Bourbon, toasted malts, vanilla, cocoa, coffee. Good, but not nearly as robust or complex as other BA Stouts. This could probably be related to the low abv. I could easily have a few of these without the alcohol slowing me down.

22 oz bomber. Nose is light vanilla and bourbon. Deep black color with tan head that dissipates quickly leaving no lacing. Taste of vanilla, caramel and roasted malt with a hint of bourbon. Semi-dry and thin for a stout. No hop presence or bitterness. Disappointing for a bourbon barrel aged stout.

Black pour into the glass with the deepest of ruby fringes. The initially soap-pocked head leaves soap lacing. The nose is woody, of vanilla and bourbon. Relatively subdued, but well-integrated flavors of oak, lightly roasted malt, vanilla notes, bourbon essence and a kiss of alcohol finish with a definitive oaked bourbon. Again, everything is held in check very well, with a soft palate and silky smooth mouthfeel. Semi-dry with nice aging to it. Very well put together.

Poured from a bomber into a tulip on 05.09.14. A: Midnight black with some red at the bottom. Tan 2 finger head. Great lacing. S: Vanilla, caramel. I could smell it from an armís length away while pouring. Magnificent! T: Vanilla, caramel, bourbon dominate. Very slight char is there too as well as milk chocolate. M: Creamy smooth. A bit watery but the ABV is very low for a BBA stout, so whatever. O: This was my first BBA stout. Iím an addict now because of this one. The vanilla, caramel, and bourbon are strong. It is surprisingly complex. The ABV is low, but there is always Huge Arker for something heavier.

Boozy bourbon nose. Makes me afraid I wonít like it. As i typically prefer my bourbon aged beers with just a hint of bourbon. Luckily itís way less dominant in the flavor. Surprisingly balanced for such a light stout. Pretty dry, actually. A touch of fruit and vanilla from the bourbon. A bit of roasty malt. Pretty thin finish. Tasty, drinkable, but a little simple.

Pour is black with a lot of tan head, a good bit of bubbles, and a lot of lacing. Nose has some scorched wood, moderate bourbon notes, light roasted malt. Taste is a bit thin, barrel fades in flavor, some chocolaty malt, a touch chalky, light vanilla. Body is a touch thin, soft carb, soft and creamy feel.
