3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Nose: Faint wood and some vanilla, good but to faint.
Aroma: Wood, bourbon, vanilla and a bit of chocolate
Now on first sight straight drinking this is quite impresive but roling it through the mouth shows how thin and one dimensional it is. I really like the taste but I could not rate the palate higher as 3 because of it.
Thin body, creamy texture, medium carbonation.
Now if Anderson Valley would make a much heavier more complex version of this as an Imperial Stout, then they would have a reall interesting beer. Now it just falls out to thin and because of that it seems artificial.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
On the Fourth Day of Christmas 2013 the beer gods gave to me . . . a disappointing bourbon stout. Pours a dark brown color with thick creamy caramel colored head. Aroma of chocolate, vanilla, slight roast, and booze. Sweet creamy roasty caramel taste with chocolate notes on the backend. But . . . The mouthfeel I say too thin. It has no traction, which gives the complex flavors a synthetic feel. Like abstract was used.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bomber shared. Pours a dark brown with a coffee colored head. Much lacing on the glass. The aroma is complex in as such you get the bourbon, roasted malts, hints of vanilla and some woodiness. The flavor and mouth feel are incredible. You almost expect to start chewing on this and it quietly disappears. A very smooth bourbon flavor with vanilla notes, roasted malts. Maybe some toffee or something like that. Overall a very solid beer that is very well made.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours a very dark brown with a perfectly formed taupe head. Mildly smoky coffee nose. Pretty usual stout aromas. Mildly creamy and lightly scrubby texture. A soft bourbon flavor and coffee, with a short-lived, sweet vanilla that gives way to light sourwood.

4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Poured black with aromas of bourbon and coffee. Taste follows nose but with a subtle sweetness. Flavor of bourbon and coffee really comes through but not overpowering. Reminds me of a mellowed out version of bourbon county stout. Really good barrel aged stout. Will drink again.
