COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Each year, when people are starting to unpack their winter clothes and replenish their firewood, our tiny brewery in the coastal redwoods of Northern California makes seasonal preparations of a different kind. As the cold arrives, we release a unique beverage created to add warmth to even the coldest and darkest of winter's days. Winter Solstice Seasonal Ale begins with a very high original gravity to create a hearty and spicy brew with a deep amber hue and a smooth finish. Anderson Valley Brewing Company wishes you the very best for the holiday season and the New Year.

Amber in color with a off white head. Aroma of sweet malt, vanilla, and spice. Taste upfront is a sweet malt and vanilla followed by the tiniest bitter hop and spice. A nice smooth finish.

10.09.14 store label. Poured from a 12 oz can into a tumbler on 11.20.14. A: Caramel, molasses, brown sugar, cinnamon, and nuts. A: 1 1/2 finger off-white head. See through red body. T: Caramel, molasses, and cherry dominate. Cinnamon and sticky bun are subtle. P: Smooth at first, then crisp and bubbly. O: This winter warmer outperforms others, for sure. It’s complex, a little on the sweet side, but it’s balanced by the cinnamon.

Keg @Cimmeria, Oviedo. 13-01-2015.
In short: malty spicy sweet ale.
Pours hazy dark amber with frothy off white head. Moderate head retention, good lacing. Biscuit, honey, malty and toffee aromas. Medium body, average carbonation, oily texture. Taste is quite smooth, malty, sweet, some roasty noes, toffee, caramel. Very well balanced, quite enjoyable.

I think this thing even has some red ale aromas coming off it. Nice and smooth, with some creamy texture. Nice job Anderson Valley. 12oz can pour.
