COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Each year, when people are starting to unpack their winter clothes and replenish their firewood, our tiny brewery in the coastal redwoods of Northern California makes seasonal preparations of a different kind. As the cold arrives, we release a unique beverage created to add warmth to even the coldest and darkest of winter's days. Winter Solstice Seasonal Ale begins with a very high original gravity to create a hearty and spicy brew with a deep amber hue and a smooth finish. Anderson Valley Brewing Company wishes you the very best for the holiday season and the New Year.

Better than I expected but overrated nonetheless. Has a nice vanilla note with some malt and a light note of clove. Pours cloudy brown. Average carbonation. Light sweet finish. Some vanilla. Tap at pub by my work.

Bottle@home. Poured clear, with a deep amber color and a tan, lacing head. Spices, nuts, raisins in the nose. Sweet taste in a light to medium body, fairly flat, smooth on the palate. A malty brew, with caramel, licorice, plum, red grapes, cinnamon, toffee, hints of berries in the aroma. Lasting roasty sweet finish. Interesting one.

355ml bottle, Pours a brownish amber with a offwhite/slightly tan head. Smells of apples, berries, slight hops, spices, bready malt. Flavor is sweet, very malty. Honey and graham cracker, spice, lots of booze, dark fruit. A bit too aggressive with the og I think, not feeling it.

Hazelnootbruin, licht nevelig bier. Licht beige schuimkraag. Aroma van mouten, kaneel, kruidig. Zoet. Bitterheid komt in de nasmaak, samen met een licht zuurtje. Voelt wat dun in de mond, licht tot medium body.

Brown with medium off-white head. Caramel, maple syrup, Christmas cake, milk chocolate, woody, liquorice. Medium sweet with light bitter finish. Medium bodied, but with a slight thin feel. Has some strange cardboard bitterness that I don't like much, but otherwise pretty good.

12 oz. bottle shared with multiple others at brew club. Pours a thin ivory head, with fair retention, and minimal lacing, over a slightly hazy dark amber (SRM 15) body....nose is nutmeg, hints of allspice from the adjuncts, light cereal, with slight toffee/caramel, brown sugar tones, from the malts and fermentation, minimal hops....taste is sweet dried fruits with plum raisin, fig tones hints of brown sugar, minimal hops tones, minimal bitterness.....mouth feel medium body, light carbonation, with a soft minimally acid finish. This is a light spiced ale needing an increase in the malt backbone to improve body and depth of flavors. The spice were dealt with a light hand and were perhaps a bit too subtle. BJCP 8/3/14/4/7

Fles gedeeld met rikstar. Amberkleurig bier weinig schuim. Aroma is niet heel sterk aanwezig. Smaak is wat kruidig, moeilijk een plekje te geven. Afdronk is redelijk.
