Each year, when people are starting to unpack their winter clothes and replenish their firewood, our tiny brewery in the coastal redwoods of Northern California makes seasonal preparations of a different kind. As the cold arrives, we release a unique beverage created to add warmth to even the coldest and darkest of winter's days. Winter Solstice Seasonal Ale begins with a very high original gravity to create a hearty and spicy brew with a deep amber hue and a smooth finish. Anderson Valley Brewing Company wishes you the very best for the holiday season and the New Year.

Deep red, almost mahogany pour with decent head and lacing. Pleasant aroma of ripe fruit and spice. Malty sweet flavor with just a hint of spice. A bit of diacetyl present. Good body with a clean finish. A decent beer; needs more flavor/spice. I hope the diacetyl was an anomaly.

355ml bottle. Clear copper body with a medium head. Malty and caramelly, with a medium-light body and a brief green finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

The color is a beautiful burgundy with a nice pillowy head. Toffee, vanilla and some orange aroma. Sweet taste, lots of rich maltiness with a nice orange and toffee flavor.

Utsökt choklad och kola i aromen. Lite tunn som julöl. Välbalanserad men ingen massöl. Vacker i älghultsglasen.

Pours a dark amber color with an off-white head. Aroma is of caramel malts, sweet malts, and not much else. Flavor is sweet with the malts and nothing else really on the flavor.

Pouring Ribbons, NYC tap: Pours a light brown with a small off-white head. Aroma is malt and spices. Taste is similar to that. It is kind of sweet, with an ambiguous "holiday" taste to it. is it good? Well, yes, it is well made, and you should drink it.

Flaska SB. Bärnstensfärgad med tunt skum. Något konstgjord doft av vanilj och smökola. Smaken något sötsliskig. Sirap och vanilj med choklad i bakgrunden. Får en viss känsla av örtlikör.

Draft at thirsty monk. Pours brown with a khaki head. Leaves some thick lacing in the glass. Lots of winter spices on the nose. I’m getting really big vanilla on the tongue which I’m really digging. Does have some nice creaminess on the mouth as well. Finishes clean. This really evokes the holidays.

Bottle. Pours a reddish brown color with white head. Cinnamon, spice, caramel aromas. Very spicy, licorice, caramel, Dr Pepper flavors. Alright, but just not my thing.

Clear red-mahogany color with a small light tan head. Nutmeg, spice, light floral notes, some light breadiness. Quite sweet, touch of bitterness and spiciness. Chewy, medium body, pretty darn long finish, that dries out towards the end. Alcohol is not terribly present. Quite good. Very neatly balanced.
