COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottled. This beer has been fine filtered prior to bottling.
NOTE: The cask version (at 3.9%) has a separate listing.
Named after a fishing fly used for luring trout, this Blonde Ale has a refreshing palate due to the use of high quality pale ale malt. By blending different hops at various stages of the brewing process Andwell’s have produced a beautiful beer with a citrus aroma and balanced bitterness.

Certainly looks the part, sparkling gold and very crystal clear. Not sure about the bottle’s claim to using European & American aroma hops, as it’s a bit lacking in that department. Taste-wise, it puts me in mind of continental lagers, but without the harshness that these can bring. As others have mentioned, lime citrus and biscuit characteristics are apparent, a touch sulphury in the finish. Sessionable.

50cl bottle bought in Hartney Wintney. Hazy straw with a billowing white head; weisbier style yeasty aroma; similar flavour with a hint of banana; the finish is dry and lightly spicy. More a Weisbier than a Golden Ale, but very drinkable nonetheless.

Fruity, malty taste with notes of tropical fruit (pineapple) and a slightly citrussy finish with moderate bitterness. Below medium body, fairly sweet. Decent golden ale.
