Bottle from Bevmo: Created a thick fluffy topping of head and liquid is a medium brown color that both glows and shows sign of heavy sediment floating around. In the nose, there is a stale Belgian abbey ale smell as if this had made the long trip from Belgium and has been sitting a long life on the shelf, so it’s not that appetizing. The flavor has gone extremely tart and flat with no real worthy flavors found other than it is tart and makes me cringe when I take a sip. This is another beer company who doesn’t care about customers drinking spending their money on an old expired bottle, shame on them.

Bomber from a small liqour store in La Jolla. Nose is lightly funky with some slight yeast and sugary aromas. Cloudy amber with a medium beige head. Flavor is funky and tart with some brown sugar. No date markings but glass had 04 08 at the bottom.

From a 22 oz. bomber bottle, no bottling/freshness date, sampled at a cool cellar temperature in a tulip glass. Poured your usual amber dubbel with a small foamy head, minimal amount of sticking. Aromas of sugar and apple cider vinegar, not that appealing. For a dubbel, moderate carbonation and a sour, tart, but not crisp, medium-light bodied mouthfeel, not what you want from a dubbel. Pretty crappy tasting, apple cider sour vinegar with candied sugar, not a good mix, pretty awful and I don’t want to waste any more of time on this. It’s been awhile since I had one glass, then poured rest of the bottle down the drain, but this earned it.
