3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 RedSox2004 (804) - Pacific Palisades, USA - FEB 12, 2010
Pours hazy orange with a one-finger head that dissipated to a very slight film and left little lacing. Typical belgian aromas of fruit esters with bananas, cherries, figs, and plenty of spiciness. Taste is a dark fruit sweetness, almost tangy, with little in terms of an offsetting bitterness. Medium body, lively carbonation, and the dark fruits linger in the aftertaste.

Murky orange amber color/ of white head. Big tart wheat, clove, coriander spicy perfume aromas. medium bodied. Tooty fruity yeasty belgian ale flavors of banana, citrusy tart wheat, clove, peppercorn, candi sugar. Lots of nice individual flavors here, but they don’t mesh very well.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 alexanderj (2851) - Gilbert, Arizona, USA - APR 23, 2010
Bottle; poured a vibrant, but ruddy, orange-amber with not much off white head. Aroma was really light; very ripe fruit, yeast, toasted malt and some sugar. Taste was better than expected; but a little subdued. Not very complex despite the description.

UPDATED: JAN 11, 2011 Bottle. Pours with a very hazy brown body and a fading off-white head. Aroma of belgian yeast, raisins, caramel, chocolate. Light banana esters and even fainter tobacco. Taste is strong banana, slightly metallic, quite sweet, and fruity. A bit of clove and a lot of chocolate. Lively carbonation. Creamy mouthfeel. Perhaps a bit generic.

Thanks to whomever brought this to The Bruery for their Beer Geek show and tell.
This starts out w/ the yeasty & estery, but the flavor stops and it finishes pretty blandly.

22oz bottle from the brewery. One of the better Angel City beers I’ve tried. Pours a cloudy chocolate brown with some sediment. Fruity nose with some Belgian yeast in there as well. This brew needs to sit for a while if you pick one up any time soon, could age into a great beer.
