Bottle. Orange pour with gold tinge. Some citrus hops in the aroma, but some kinda spoiled / earthy english malt dominates the aroma. This same slightly nasty malt is in the flavor, along with a small amount of bittering hops.

I ordered this at the Yardhouse the other night and drank it before it really struck me as a great beer. I guess for that reason I’d give it a very drinkable nod, but I would not seek this one out if you want to be impressed. I remember some strong hop presence in both the flavour and nose, but a fairly watery body.

Pours clear gold witha big white head. Definitely an English-style IPA. Soapy hops, pepper, biscuits, and that distinctive English malts. Taste is sharp and crisp, but somewhat watered-down. Apple tartness, lemons, and the golding hops are prevalent, as is a funky, musty malt flavor. Not really my bag, baby.
2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 FoolishMortal (973) - San Diego, California, USA - APR 16, 2006
22oz. bottle. Bright orange with yellow tinges. Tall white rocky head. Soapy applejuice aroma. Rather acetic malt flavor dominates, some muted resinous bitter hops. Ruddy, almost burnt caramel flavors in the finish, with some residual sourness. Mouthfeel is medium, somewhat dry. Possibly infected from the suprising flavors.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 steview (904) - San Francisco, California, USA - DEC 10, 2005
bomber to shaker / had this with a spicy appetizer that consists of fresh baked french bread, creme cheese, and il primo giardiniera... mmm, anyway / this beer really cut the spice, and it was smooth as hell, so i obviously finished it pretty quickly. this beer is most memorable in ts sweetness, which consisted of creamy caramel, and some nuts. there was a bit of pine, and a pinch of citrus, also. a dirty brown color taints this brew... pretty good brew, but not really an IPA.
1.4 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 4/20 elnadeau (786) - Laguna Niguel, California, USA - MAY 6, 2006
Bottle, from Hi-Time Cellar. Orange-amber color, aroma is strange and not at all as expected for an IPA. I assume that this bottle has a production problem or infection, way too many off flavors.
2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 brianprentiss (615) - Portland, Oregon, USA - APR 28, 2008
very very average beer. it tastes like an ipa would taste if it were made by miller. a little sour and unlike the commercial description just seems out of balance.
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Schultsc (572) - San Diego, California, USA - JUN 23, 2005
UPDATED: JUN 27, 2005 Dark golden amber color and a lot of head with a slightly malty aroma. Clean hops flavors dominate finished with a rounded mouth feel. Indeed very well balanced.
