3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
First rating. I entered the beer into the database. Taster from tap at Pizza Port Carlsbad. Black color with offwhite head. Some roastines in the aroma. Taste is very, very dry with almost an illusion of sour. I get that sensation with dry beers. Alcohol well hidden. Not very good. Probably mashed at too low of a temperature leaving little unfermentables.

2.6 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
I had this on tap at Spring Street Smokehouse. It tastes like a thick version of their tasty Dunkel. I would bet the farm it isn’t 10.2%. Didn’t have flavor qualities that come with that abv, and didn’t pack a 10.2% punch.

Bought at alpine village Torrance,Ca. Poured a pitch black with slight tan head. Some coffee, but mostly chocolate, bitter chocolate, alcohol well hidden, easy drinking for the style, abit ho hum, but ok.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Served from a 22 oz bottle from Windy City. The appearance is a creamy brown-black with a medium foamy brown head. The aromas are rich with roasted malts, medium roast coffee, confection sugar, and alcohol. The flavors start with a chocolate tone with edges of smoke, tobacco, hard candy, vanilla. The beer is lacking a bit in body but has some good flavor characteristics to it.. Not too bad at all.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Oh man - a massive 10% beer. Rich in flavor and finish. Strong smoky rich flavor - burnt toast and faint alcohol notes. Coats the inside of your mouth, coffee and chocolate tones. Incredibly chewy and complex. Bravo AC.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
On tap at Spring Street Smokehouse. Black with a frothy beige head. Aroma is chocolate, dark malts and alcohol. Taste is the same and pretty full-bodied. Nice drinkable strong stout.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: JUL 9, 2009 What a weird idea for a beer. Still, Iím a sucker for Imperial Stouts so I had to give it a shot. Pours pitch black with a small tan head. Aroma is very earthy, with hints of chocolate and roasted malts. Flavor is very sweet with hints of alcohol, and a nice bit of hop in the finish. Itís by no means a "must have," but for $3.50 for a 22oz bottle, you could do a lot worse than a 10.2% ABV stout.

Not a favorite out of all the stouts I have tried. Drank from a 22 oz. bottle. Light chocolate taste. Coffee aroma and taste to it. A higher alcohol content to it but u cant really taste it.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Got this at Pacific Liquor in North Park, a 22 oz. Bomber. The price was certainly right, but does the beer measure up? The head on this sucker was so huge and took so long to go down I was getting thirsty waiting. The aroma is of coffee and roasted barley. The flavor is nice and dry but with plenty of body, a very well balanced imperial stout, the alcohol is well masked. Nice chocolate and a slight licorice flavor. A very solid beer.
