Hand pulled at the Waggon and Horses, Halesowen. (labelled as 4.5%). Jet black, with cream head. Honeycomb aroma. Good thick mouthfeel. A nice hit of ginger and choc combined, but then a disappointingly dry, papery finish. Reasonable, but hinted at more.

Cask @ Bodega, Newcastle.
Pours dark red colour with light head. Appearance reminds me of Guinness. Aroma of chocolate, light roasted malts and spices like cinnamon and ginger. Flavour of ash dry chocolate, roasted malts, ginger, cinnamon and light coffee notes.

Cask, Bodega, Newcastle. Intense and bitter jet black beer, with a coffee coloured head. An intriguing aroma that has more blackcurrant than roast malt and I would agree with the previous reviewers comments re: soy. The ginger comes in on the swallow and disappears quickly, leaving a smoked aftertaste. Palate sour, verging on sour, an unusual beer.

Cask at the Waggon and Horses, Halesowen. Pours Jet black with a medium head. Aroma is dry roast, soy sauce and a little ginger. Taste has roast malt and soy sauce to start. A little ginger and licorice in the finish.
