DavidP (1713), Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA Aug 1, 2004 Hazy dark amber body. Heavy, sweet flavor. Has figs, chocolate milk, and maple wood. More heavy on the fig sweetness than other Abt. styles (has the same woodiness as a Westy, just not as pronounced). Dry flavor overall. Light alcohol and dark bread in the weak aroma. Good mouthfeel for the style. muzzlehatch (4424), Burlington, Vermont, USA Jul 2, 2004 Glass at the brewpub. Bright amber, cloudy unfiltered, medium lasting head, lots of lovely floaties. Sticky, floral-honey nose; low to medium sweetness, just a bit spicy (ginger), a bit thin and lacking in character. tomxcs (315), Golden, Colorado, USA Jun 15, 2004 Hazy amber color, little head. A little fruity with spices in the aroma. Malt, grapefruit, and spices in the taste. Good but not quite there. JPDIPSO (4286), Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, USA Jan 19, 2004 Dark golden color with a moderate dense off white head. Fruity aroma with a touch of yeast and spiciness. Light citrus, coriander, white pepper, peaches and mild phenols. Some mild yeast character. Seems to just miss. argo0 (6230), Washington DC, USA Jul 2, 2003 Hazy copper with medium creamy beige head.
