2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Enjoyed in Phnom Penh. Pours black with tan head that fades quickly. Aroma is roasted malt and some yeast. Flavor is the same with some dark fruit, coffee, hint of chocolate, mineral yeasty aftertaste. Some hops bitterness lingers and some slight booze. Decent brew for the area (way better than ABC stout), but in the grand scheme lacks balance and sophistication.

2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Another classic Cambodian Extra Stout. Thin, burnt, licoricey, and overall not that interesting, but it is 8%!

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Smell of coffee, licorice, tar. Very dark brown colour, dark brown head. Aroma of chocolate, sugar. Sweet, but still slightly watery. Rich but soft in carbon. Better than expected.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Thanks to Koelschtrinker for that bottle. Looks simple but good. Beer in the glass deep black, nice brownish head. Starts intense malty, not too roasty, strong with alcoholic hints. Dry-bitter background. Finish less dry, more woody-earthy. Warming aftertaste. Really nice!

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle Siem Reap, Cambodia, 8% abv.
Appearance: Black and almost opaque, fluffy tan head which endures.
Aroma: Coffee and chocolate, dark fruits, some booziness.
Flavour: Very similar to aroma, could do with a little more bitterness.
Overall: Strong and flavourful with decent complexity, good effort at what Sinha is my favorite example of.

18/X/2012 - 33cl bottle @ home - BB: n/a (2012-1146) Thanks to Thomas and Annelies for the bottle!
Clear dark brown beer, big creamy beige to brown head, pretty stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: sweet, sugary, lots of overripe fruits, some banana, chocolate. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: bit sour in the start, roasted malts, toast, some chocolate, sweet, caramel. Aftertaste: chocolate, mocha, cocoa powder, dry bitte rhoppy ending. If I were a Cambodian, this’d be my session beer. Or maybe the Black Panther, that one was pretty good as well...

33cl bottle at The Roll Up in Siem Reap. Pours dark brown with a nice light brown head. Aroma of roasted malt with a hint of caramel. Quite sweet and not much bitterness, but still pretty nice in this corner of the world. (2012-05-02)
