3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle is Phnom Penh a couple of months ago. I just found my rating on a scrap piece of paper, so here it is. Bottle says "Premium Beer." Golden yellow with a medium head. Aroma of apples, malt and yeast. Flavor is dry apple and pear, but not too dry. Malt and yeast flavor as well. Finish is a bit fizzy, but still refreshing. Not bad with tacos.

Pale straw color. Soapy and steady head. PIzza dough aroma. Not nearly as bad as we were thinking it would be. Very "asian" flavored.

Bottle. I owe a big thank you to Harry from the Hyperbaric chamber in Phucket Thailand for this beer. It was brought across the border from Cambodia. Angkor had a golden yellow color with a foamy white head which quickly laced. It had a musty aroma and was a little stronger than many Asian lagers with some citrus in the aroma. It had a dry palate.

Bottle@Phnom Penh Hotel, Phnom Penh, Cambodia. Golden beer with a light head. The aroma is yeasty and dry, and the flavour is dry and yeasty with lager bitterness. Overall a reasonable lager, average beer.

I guess the setting clouds my view. I have just seen this marvel and am sitting in the Angkor Wat cafe 400 metres from the temple. The beer is less of a religious exereience but it is quite good, a beer that has qualities a number of Asian beers lack. There is a clean malt and hop aroma with a crisp head. A great body and hop flavour too. I won't was too lyrical but in all it knocks a lot of the other beers out, as I was with the temple.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Country #99 !! Thanks Pascal (jaghana.) Large bottle of Angkor Premium Beer. Golden body with fast receding head. Nose of corn and pilsener similar to Carlsberg. Taste is crisp of hops, with some bitter and citrus notes. Not that bad really. Perhaps a bit bland but altogether okay.

2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Light yellow, minimal head. Mild Asian-spiced aroma (saffron?). No hop presence noted, hint of that same spice. Not sure I could handle more than one of these at any time.

Canned 320ml. It pours a clear pale yellow beer with a dense off-white head which leaves a sticky spotty lace. Decent retention. Interesting aroma of apples, cork and muscat grapes. Sour. Light bodied. A lot of cork and white grapes showing up in the taste too. Low bitterness. Strong carbonation. A lot of residual sugars in the finish which is reminiscent of fresh cut gras and apple. Interesting.
