50cl Bottle from Systembolaget i Kalmar. BBE ?/04/15, hard to read. Pours dark brown, thin off-white head. Quite typical dubbel aroma of sweet fruits, caramel, toffee notes. Pleasant. Flavor has sweet banana, raisins, bready notes and caramel. Long sweet finish with banana lingering. Some alcohol warmth also. Good.

På flaska från systemet. Mörk rödbrun i färgen. Luktar rostat kaffe. Smak av karamell och lite svagt av sött kaffe.

Yeasty aroma. Very dark color and low carbon activity, very little head. Sweet taste. Reminds me of Abbey Beer home brew kit from Brewferm.

UPDATED: JAN 6, 2015 Caramel, very sweet for a double. Some plum, some licorice, some raisin, quite earthy. Bubblegum and belgian yeast esters dominate. A bit boozier than my prefered double (Westmalle) and there isthis weird licorice leathery touch to it.

Bottle. Clear amber beer with a medium beige head. Honey, fruity, sweet aroma with some yeasty notes. Fruity, yeasty and sweetish flavour.

Ar: very sweet, chocolatey, roastiness, coffee, cocoa, no Belgian yeasty notes whatsoever, still the notes are enjoyable, boozy finish. Ap: hazy ruby/copper colour, medium tan head that disippates completely. F: big roastiness, coffee, dark chocolate, some ash, paired with big sweetness and alcohol, again no discernable Belgian yeastiness and way too much roastiness for the style. As a Dubbel it’s a mess! If you can get over that fact the flavours aren’t that bad albeit a little odd. P: medium body, medium carbonation. T: A miserable Dubbel, but if you can get over that fact the beer itself is not miserable, but not terribly impressing either.
