Sampled on draught at the brewpub in downtown Billings, Montana. Pours a clear brown caramel brew with a thick off-white head that has good retention and lacing. Aroma of toasted multi-grain biscuits, roasted nuts with a touch of flowery hops. Taste is medium bodied, very light carbonation with a sweet malt and light dry bitterness. Finish is light, dry with a toasted biscuit and nutty aftertaste.

Draft sample at brewpub. Poured a clear brown color with an creamy light brown head that was mostly lasting and produced good lacing. Good toasted malt, caramel, coffee and dough aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Good toasted sweet flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration. My expectations where met.

Draft at taphouse: Pours a nice depth of brown with a thick and creamy tan head. Thick lacing. Nose is more malty, roasty, and nutty than previous ales sampled at Hank’s. Flavor is smooth and malty with very little floral hops. Light bits of chocolate and coffee balance out this nice little brown ale.

Growler poured a clear dark brown with red highlights and a lasting creamy brown head. Aromas of cocoa, coffee, roasted nuts and a hint of tobacco. Palate was medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of bakers cocoa, coffee and roasted nuts with a smooth dry lingering malty finish.

On draught at the brewery taproom, pours a dense brown color with a thick tan head. Medium-bodied, with an even dry/sweet malty flavor. a clean, slightly dry finish with underlying hop bitterness. A full mouthfeel, a bit filling. Overall - OKAY.
