Tap at Angry Minnow on Nov. 18, 2011. On nitrogen. Very dark ruby-black pour with a huge creamy nitro head. Nose was roasty and sweet. Smooth creamy palate. Taste was mild roast, not as much sweetness. Very good stuff.

(16oz can courtesy of Nuplastikk). Pours. A dark brown color with creamy tan head that leaves some nice lacing. Aroma has cocoa, coffee and a bit of dark fruit. Taste is roasty bitter and slight sweetness. Medium bodied with a dry finish. Not a sweet stout at all. Very dry and roasty.

UPDATED: SEP 21, 2011 16oz can picked up in Wausau WI. Pours an opaque brown black with a thin, steady beige head which laces the glass. The aroma is a little suspect, with some butterscotch tones, lots of butter. I’m not what they were going for for, but this comes off almost like a Caribbean Stout on nitro. Chalky, brown sugar and chocolate tones, not unlike an Eastern European Dunkel, cheap burnt raisin finish. Grows on you for sure. I enjoyed this a lot more the second time I had it.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 esjaygee (2583) - Oak Creek, Wisconsin, USA - AUG 15, 2009
On tap at the GTMW. Opaque brown with a thin tan head that moderately laces my glass. Aroma of roasted malt and mild chocolate. Taste of mild roasted malt, light chocolate and very mild oatmeal. A bit thin, kind of reminded me a bit of guinness.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Ughsmash (5818) - Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA - MAY 29, 2009
On tap at the Wisconsin Micro-Brewer’s Beer Fest. Poured deep brown with a short-lived cap of beige head. The aroma opened with an odd sourness and vegetal notes over toasted chocolate and a pinch of vanilla.. it lost the weirdness as it breathed, but it still wasn’t all that good. The flavor had mostly black patent maltage at the core joined by some baker’s chocolate.. vanilla and a pinch of caramel came through on the finish. Medium-bodied with some sourness on the palate that definitely didn’t help.. otherwise smooth feel. This seemed slightly off.
3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 BBB63 (5023) - La Porte, Indiana, USA - AUG 26, 2008
GTMW 2008: Basically opaque with a tan creamy head and left good lace. The aroma has notes of lactic acid, oatmeal, chocolate and roasted malts, some charred malt, prune and coffee esters as well. At first there was a sour like twang but that soon went away leading towards a solid sweet malt profile supported on the finish with some smoke and coffee tones, grassy hops too. The mouth feel is not has creamy has the head let on but it was not thin either. A very nice oatmeal stout all told.

Beerfest in Chilton. This was a nice sweet stout. Aroma is almost smoky. Tastes sweet with some oatmeal-like qualities in the flavor. Nice.

Pours a thick, black colour with a huge, forever rising tan head. Aroma is of dark chocolate, toffee and heavily roasted coffee beans. Taste is full, very creamy with plenty of dark fruits, chocolate, smoke and subtle oak. Named after Oaky the dog. It was a pleasure meeting him this past weekend.

Very dark beer with a thick tannish head. Strong aroma of oats and caramel malt, toffee and chocolate. Sweet malt, caramel and bready flavor. Finishes more dry. One of the better Stouts I have had in a while.

Nice dark color with a dark tan head. Fairly think body, with not much in the way of flavor. Somwhat similar to Gunniess. I didnt detect much coffee or malt. Easy drinking, not bad.
