COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our Cider House Collection #1: For centuries Farmhouse Cider making has been a tradition celebrated by farmers in the English and French countryside. Strawman combines a distinct blend of juices from traditional culinary and bittersweet apples, which is then aged in oak. The result is a full-flavored, complex and balanced cider with wine-like characteristics, rounded out by apple and citrus notes. Its lingering, earthy finish is a homage to the origins of this unique cider.

This corked and caged bottled Cider from a grocery store poured a head of foamy medium sized off-white colored bubbles that were quickly diminishing and left behind a typically carbonated orange brown colored body and a poor lacing. The mild aroma was golden apple. The dry crisp mouth feel was tingly at the start and at the finish. The ok flavor contained notes of golden apple and crisp. An OK brew just nothing special.

A healthy cork-pop signals a lively beverage.... pours a well-hazed copper, with a fizzy head that fades fast, although goodly carbonation keeps swirls of bubbles percolating. Dry, vinous aroma with apples coming out late. As I take a sip, its tartness and full-bodied consistency take me by surprise. (Well, that and the obvious hit of alcohol.) I’m reading the bottle as I sip and see "wine-like characteristics", which is certainly true. At times it’s like sipping a tannic wine with grapeskin notes. Another sip and it comes off like a saison, and yet another taste provides the tongue with a nice, tart, well-made cider. I was expecting something special with this one and I was not disappointed with its complexities and potency. ~~~~~~ 750ml Bottle, Kenwood Liquors, Oak Lawn, IL

Ok, it could just be me, but I cant really tast a whole lot. Frankly it’s really boring to drink this. No a whole lotta flavor, doesn’t go down all that easy, and generally just not good. The Muse was way better.

Bottle at catch 22 bottle share! Pours a hazy golden yellow with bubbly white head that dissipates quickly. Aroma and taste are what you expect, cider apples. Not my thing but better than most ciders, and I had no idea the booze was that high.

750ml ($15) This came off like they were attempting to match the DuPont Reserve Cidre in character but fell far short. the complexity is not there and the overall impression feels very similar to just an apple juice mimosa. still good for what it is but even at $15 I could make these myself for $5 brute. sorry, but pass.

This is a very different cider compared to the rest of Angry Orchard’s current line up. It honestly runs more like a wine. It’s flavor is very deep, rich, roasty, and a wonderful bitter aftertaste - It’s not sweet at all running similar to some of the English ciders. It pours in a lot darker color more towards the orange side :)

[Bottle] Sampled at Cider Summit Chicago 2015. Light amber pour with a fizzy white head on top. Nose is of barnyard notes, apples and some straw. Flavors of apples, white grapes, musty yeast notes and noticeable alcohol. Dry and scrumpy. Not my favorite.

Bottle. Pours a hazy orange with a near white head that dissipates quickly to the edges. Aroma has a good amount of musty apple with some growing sweetness and a hint of oak. Flavor starts slightly sweet but quickly transforms into dry and earthy apples with an oaky backing.
