3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Pours a hazy orange with a near white head that dissipates quickly to the edges. Aroma has a good amount of musty apple with some growing sweetness and a hint of oak. Flavor starts slightly sweet but quickly transforms into dry and earthy apples with an oaky backing.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours cloudy straw with a short-lived white head diminishing rapidly to a thin cap, no lacing. (3/5) Nose is sour apple and funky yeast, grapes and oak. (8/10) Taste is mild sweet, moderate bitter, mild oaky vinous funk. (8/10) Medium body, fizzy carbonation, short dry finish. (4/5)
Quite a bit better than I was expecting, actually, given my last Angry Orchard cider - a "Crisp Apple" that really wasn’t. Crisp, I mean - it was apple, for sure. This, on the other hand, is crisp. And apple. And funky. And vinous. And oaky. And really a fair bit of fun. (15/20)

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
THOUGHTS: I haven’t had many ciders, but still, never had a cider this tart – and very few beverages in general that were this tar. Alcohol was fairly well hidden. A cider for sour beer fans. Sort of right in between a sour beer and a champagne. Wow! It really sneaks up on you, too.
TECHNICAL: Drank 5/4/2013. Bottle. Poured a fairly clear, light orange with a small, fizzy, off-white head that fully diminished. The aroma had a hint of funky yeast that grew as it warmed; white grape, apple, white wine, slight wood; slight alcohol; and sour apple. The initial flavor was lightly sweet and heavily acidic; while the finish was slightly to lightly sour and moderately sweet and acidic. There was apple, white wine, champagne, granny smith apples, sour apples, some wood, very tart apples, other sour fruit like lemons; ever-so-slight funk, and tannins. The nearly medium body was extremely dry with fizzy carbonation and a moderately astringent and slightly alcoholic finish.

1.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20
This was poured into a pint glass and a wine glass.
The appearance was the same in both glasses: glossy yellow color with streams of carbonation seen rising.
The smell had some tart apples with a strong vinous like quality. Light straw/hay like quality running underneath.
The taste was exactly the same.
On the palate, this one sat about a light on the body with a sessionability that is mediocre as that harshness is slightly overbearing and too vinous.
Overall, what a waste of money. Haha, glad I didn’t pay for it. These vinous ciders are just not that great. Strike out.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
5/16/13. 750mL bottle given to me by Aunt Sally. She told me this was a good cider and I informer her and her friends that this was impossible because of the label and the oak used. Oak is used in the making of dark red wines which are not good, so this can’t possibly be good. Anyway, it pours a hazy dark burnt orange with a small creamy khaki head that cuts to a fuzzy ring but remains. Yeasty, cidery, aroma, tart apples, Champagne yeast, acidic white wines. Tart flavor punches at first sip, cidery, green apple tartness, yeasty, apple juice, more white wine. Seems to be trying too hard to be strong. Meh. Take that, Aurelius!

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Clear amber with minimal head.
Faint nose of apples, vanilla, oak and flowers?
Taste is sour apples, oak, vanilla and just a little tar.
Bubbly, sticky and dry. Alcohol very well hidden. Really easy to drink.
