Bottle at Chriso - 25/09/12 thanks to Paul/Scopey. Very dark mahogony brown with a thin mocha head. Very fruity nose, slightly soured, cherries, dates, prunes. Taste follows nose with dark fruit flavours, a little roast malt none of the usual stout features such as coffee, licquorice, chocolate nor is there any full on roastiness. Lighter end of medium in body with a slightly sour finish. I really enjoyed this one after an evening comprised of largely stronger stuff. Not your typical stout very fruity.

@ Thompson bar (?). Dark brown-black with ruby tint and nice lacing. Nice fruity aroma has dried cherries and chocolate, with some red licorice but no roast. Soft palate. Some acidity in the finish, closes a bit thin. The tartness of sour cherries and sour plum is interesting.

Cask (gravity) @ 27th Pigs Ear Beer and Cider Festival 2010, at The Round Chapel in Hackney, London, England

Clear dark brown color with a small to average, frothy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, burnt malt, hard roasted. Flavor is moderate to light heavy sweet and bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat. [20101130]

Bottle at at ChrisO tasting, London. Pours clear, dark brown with a creamy, beige foam head. Dust dark malt nose, some tangy leather. Light sweet flavor with moderate tang, funk, light dirt. Medium bodied with heavy carbonation. Lightly sweet to finish with earthy bitterness and modest berries. OK. Lots of tangy fruits and leather, which don’t really work.

Cask @ Clockwork Beer Co. Almost black colour, big foamy head. Mild milky malt aroma. Herby treacle malt flavour. Smooth & creamy with sour aftertaste. Not really my sort of beer.
