Cask conditioned at Minehead Beer Fes ’11. Amber with no head. Quite a bitter, dryish beer with an ashy, cigarette note, leafy and earthy, fairly basic but still drinkable.

500 ml bottle. From Carnoustie, Scotland.
Hazy dark amber colour with tiny off-white head or almost no head. Fruity hops, apricot and malt in mild aroma. Malt, some darkness and mild fruity hops in flavour. Low carbonation. Slightly watery.

Cask by handpump at The Oxford Bar, Edinburgh (17 Feb 12) - clear brown ale with a medium off-white head and roast and nut malt aroma, flavour of toffee, caramel, just a bit too bitter for my liking

Bottle from Spar in Carnoustie. Pours copper with a decent white head. Caramel, coffee aromas. Similar flavours. Pleasant if unexciting.

On cask at The Blue Blazer. Pours a copper colour with a thin beige head. Aroma of caramel, coffee and treacle. Quite sweet and boring. Flavours of caramel and toffee with some barley and a lingering dryness. Creamy mouth-feel.

Cask conditioned at St Albans BF 2010. Hazy copper colour, odd cooked meat aroma. Rather decent. Some malt. Brawn beef cooked then licked the grill. Apparently. But not horrible.

Cask, gravity at The White Horse, Hedgerley, 18th ’Coming of Age’ Beer Festival 29-05-10 Pours amber with a white rim of bubbles. This is a bit chewy and another that I get that toffee banana swirl flavour from, like the Belvoir Cloud 9 in that respect. Moderate to light bitterness, chewy sweet malts. Ok. A6 A3 T6 P3 Ov12 3.0
