yespr (6943), Copenhagen O, Denmark Dec 14, 2007 75 cL bottle. Pours deep maghoni brown with a slight off-white head. Spiced, slight liqourice and slight herbal note. Flavour starts sweet and soon gains a distinct spice note I cannot make out, slight herbal. In the background a mild annis seed note is present. Some dried fruit notes appear just before the finish as the initial sweetness slowly disappears. A solid malt base beneath. Ends somewhat dry and herbal.
BoBoChamp (737), Gent, Belgium Oct 13, 2008 75cl, exclusive brew, from De Hopduvel Gent, complex brew, not balanced, clear, good head, nice X-Mas brew, but too heavy Mogwai (189), Askeby, Denmark Aug 11, 2008 Bottle. Pours a brown/dark amber aolour with a thick off-white head. Aroma is dark fruits, spices, malts, caramel, hops. Mouthfeel was thick and soft and just plain lovely. Flavor is very x-massy and sweet, with, again, dark fruits, spices, anis, liquorice and alcohol. Very good. MiP (6029), Flensburg, Germany Feb 12, 2008 Bottle, 8%. Yeasty marcipan aroma, sweet and powerful. Clear brown colour, small tan head. Good malty flavour with a nice level of alcohol/pepper. There is also some dried fruit and tobacco. I like it, but it is not exactly well-balanced. KimJohansen (4299), Copenhagen V, Denmark Jan 11, 2008 Dark amber with off white head.
