Canned. Pale golden, smal head. Sugary rice aroma. Sweet and mellow, no bitterness. Typical inaggressive but dull tropical lager.

Very weak on all fronts, low numbers due more to lack of taste and smell than actual bad odors. A yellow, limey, thin, boring beer.

330 ml can, as Anker Bir Pilsener ("Limited Edition" concerning the brewery’s 75th anniversary - I suppose the "limited edition" only affects the design of the can, not the beer inside.) A gift from my Indonesian-born sister-in-law. ABV is 4.9%. Very pale and crystal clear yellow colour, big head. Sweetish and slightly sickly "industrial" aroma, notes of grass and maize. Soft mouthfeel. The flavour is bland with some sweetness and minimal bitterness, utterly boring.

Anker, maizy taste, lots of adjucts (rice or corn), maybe it’s just me, why does it taste like Glycerine? no foam, no body, sweet (lil bit oxidized). Panther’s PIss.

One of the first beer I tried, a little bit sweet on the taste, less bitter, very suitable for summer or tropical country

Gold. Fair starting head. Sweet aroma, some floral notes. Thin, sweet flavour. An adequate vacation beer brought back by Poperinge’s wife. (Thanks Bo!)

UPDATED: FEB 23, 2013 Re-rate - Bottle from A-Mart off-license, South Kuta, Bali, Indonesia.
Sunny, sparkling gold with fine carbonation and a fluffy, lasting white crown. Pleasant grassy hop nose, very clean with just a whisp of palest malt. Citrus, lemon burst over some classy, grassy hops. Lightly bitter, crisp and oh so clean. Body is light to delicate with moderate carbonation. Good back-bone of malt, grainy with a hint of sweetish, toasted grains and pale honey. Kills the modern Bintang. Very refreshing, light and balanced. Much different from the beer I tasted many years back.
Another beer to add to the list as I ventured around Bali. Tasted from the bottle and poured into a Pilsner glass. Brilliant pale gold body, with even small carbonation failing to produce a head, bar some lace. Sweet fruit punch aroma, fairly clean. Dry, light bodied and crisp in the mouth. Light honey sweet front, with bitter sides and a medium length bitter swallow. Light in taste and well suited to the climate of Indonesia and Bali, but I still think ’Bintang’ is one up (but that’s a personal thing!).

Pale yellow coloured. Strange metallic aroma. Very weak flavour. A really boring brew.

An orange beer with a small white head. The aroma is dominated by straw. And the flavor is malty with notes of straw.
