UPDATED: OCT 16, 2005 Re-rate in 2005: On draught at the Kulminator. Dark brown coloured, beige head, thin lacing. Malts and nuts in a nice combination of sweet and bitter. Dry finish. Very nice beer. Original rating: Damn, my rating was removed from the database and i have no notes. I thought it was a pretty nice bock, but i can’t specifically recall its characteristics. I’ll try it again soon.

Tap in De Bekeere Suster. Typical Anker vanilla aroma. Redbrown color, beige almost creamy head, very nice lace, beautiful glass as well. Sweet, caramel, vanilla, bit buttery, soft. Unlike most bocks I ever had but still great.

A Mes rate: Draught but god knows where. Very clean golden with well behaved head and lots of lace. Fruity hop nose with plenty of spice and cake. Beautiful spicy light Het Anker flavour with all the characteristics you know and love plus some honey, banana and a lovely vanilla finish. Balance in many directions. Great mouthfeel. Gotta love Het Anker.

Really dark. Great head. Sweet and herb like smell. Warm aroma with after taste of bananas which I did not anticipate. I welcome this beer again to my glass.

In general, I found most of the Bok's we tried on our recent trip to the Netherlands to be thin and watery. The Anker Bok however came closest to a good, malty, slightly smokey traditional Bok. Sweet and well rounded flavor - lots of malt body. Good hop flavor at the end.

On Tap at the Borough Arms, Crewe 07/04/2005 Mid brown coloured with a very fruity aroma. Some spice flavour and dryness in a slightly roasted malt finish.

33cl bottle @ Delirium Cafe, Brussels. Pours a dark brown with a full creamy white head and lacings. Nose is sweet of caramel, toffee, yeast and dark fruits. Smooth and vinous. Very nice.
