Bottled. Aroma is caramel, bit grainy, hint of roasted malts, hints of smoke. Dark amber color, beige head, good lace. Sweet, thin start. After that a bit fuller and sticky, caramel and finishes bitter and herbal. Strange sticky yet dry mouthfeel.

On tap. Dark brown/reddish color with very small white head that disappears quickly. Lively carbonation. Floral hopsy aroma and bitter aftertaste. A malty caramel taste develops when the beer gets warmer. I’d call it the dark counterpart of the Ankerbräu Pils, similar taste, but less hops. Interesting beer, however, very different from other Dunkels I’ve tasted.
